"Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you..."
Just as Liu Ying was singing her own birthday song, suddenly she heard an additional voice coming from the corner of her room. The voice was lively and gentle, softly singing the birthday song along with her.
Liu Ying turned in surprise and saw a woman in a black dress, with a black hat over her long hair, and a black mask covering her face; only a pair of bright eyes that seemed like a sparkling star in the night sky were visible.
On her shoulder perched a black cat, its eyes shining brightly.
Liu Ying looked startled, yet there was not a shred of fear in her expression. Looking at Qin Sisi for a moment, she intuitively sensed something unusual about the woman and asked in a gentle voice, "Are you Death? I've been waiting for you for several days."
Qin Sisi took two steps towards her and gently replied, "I am not Death; I am a mage, a contractor of soul power."
