"What in the actual fuck?!" Michael's sudden and unexpected outburst as he bolted into a sitting position caused the person atop him to tumble off the bed.
White feathers flew around the room as a melodic ringing filled the air followed by a vibrating thud as the intruder hit the wood floor.
Michael flew out from under the bed covers and backed himself into the opposite corner of the room from where the intruder had landed. He could hardly catch his breath and heart felt as though it was going to beat out of his chest at any second. Who the fuck was that and how did they get inside. He couldn't see the intruder from where he stood which only put him on higher alert.
"My. That was quite a reaction to a little kiss." Michael stiffened, his back going rigid at the sound of the deep melodic voice coming from across the room. A tuft of black along with a pair of pure white wing tips came into view from over the side of the bed. Michael couldn't believe what he was saying.
"Don't humans usually have a more polite way of rejecting someone?" The enchanting purple eyes came back into view as two hands came up to rest atop the weighted blanket on the bed.
"Hmm? I find it hard to believe you are unable to speak, human based on the commotion you caused mere seconds ago?" Head cocked to one side, the intruder appeared to be assessing Michael. An almost Cheshire cat-like grin on his lips.
Michael's focus however remained on the wing like apparatuses coming from the intruder's back. The feathers gently swayed in an almost hypnotic manner. Purple irises narrowed for brief moment until something seemed to register.
"Ah. So you can see them. Silly me. It would seem that I forgot to make sure they were hidden before landing." A gentle tinkling sound followed these words as the intruder moved to stand at his full height. With one gentle shake, the wings disappeared breaking Michael from whatever trance he had been put in.
"If you don't leave right now, I am going to call the police." He kept his voice level as he remained facing the intruder who seemed to not care about the threat as he began to survey the room.
"There are no drugs or alcohol in this apartment if that's what you're looking for." Michael continued, his gaze shifting slightly as he tried to gauge the distance from where he stood to where his phone was safely tucked in the nightstand.
"Drugs? Do I look like that kind of deviant to you?" Michael stopped mid step as the intruder's gaze came to rest on him once more. The tone sharper as he came around the edge of the bed.
"I am well aware that there are no such things here. As I'm equally aware you have nothing of value. Which is why this makes a perfect place for me to stay."
"Absolutely not! This is my place. You can't just break into somewhere and then demand to be allowed to stay." Sensing his options were about to become more limited as the intruder advanced in his direction, Micheal lunged in the direction of the nightstand, hand outstretched and poised to grab his phone.
In the same instance, the intruder moved with almost imperceptible speed. In flash, Michael found himself pinned against the wall and the intruder's well-toned chest. Hands pinned above his head.
"Ah Ah. Let's not get too hasty, shall we? Why don't we stop and have a little chat instead?" Even with the rush of adrenaline from being unexpectedly shoved against the wall, Michael was unable to push the other off. In fact, the man's hands didn't even budge an inch despite the waiter using all his strength to thrash against the hold.
"Shh now. As amusing as it is to watch you resist, I wouldn't want you to end up hurting yourself. Humans are such delicate creatures after all." The predatory amusement that shone back in his gaze told a different story from soothing words. The intruder seemed to find great amusement in watching struggle against him futilely.
"Get the fuck of me! I swear if you don't let go of me right this minute, you will regret it the moment I shout and security barges in." Michael put as much confidence into the words as he could. After all, the intruder didn't need to know that the security officer assigned to the apartment complex was likely in a drunk slumber somewhere in one of the stairwells.
"I hate to break it to you, love but while you can shout all you like, no one will be able to hear you." the intruder's calm, cocky tone was starting to really piss Micheal off.
"What are you talking about? The window you just came through is still wide open. Anyone within a quarter-mile radius is going to hear me the moment I raise my voice."
The intruder's lips curled into an amused smirk. "Scream all you want," he taunted, his tone playful yet chilling. "But our little sanctuary is now cut off from your world. Your cries won't reach beyond these walls."
Michael's mind raced, grappling with the surreal reality of the situation. The open window, a supposed gateway to safety, now seemed like an illusion. The intruder's confident demeanor and supernatural speed made Michael question his own sanity. Was this a dream? A hallucination?
"Who are you?" Michael demanded his voice a mix of anger and curiosity. Isamu's smirk widened,
and he leaned in close, his breath a whisper against Michael's ear. "Just a lost traveler seeking shelter. But don't worry, I'll be good company."
