Mable went on for the rest of class about her theories. None of which interested me. Her Worm would likely never amount to much since it lacked a bloodline to enhance. I was still learning about this world so I was not about to frail in the dark with only hope to fall back on. Awaking and Enhancing Bloodlines was rare. Very few people could do it. Those who could manage it were few and far between.
My skill was extremely profitable. Other students had started paying me just to find out if their beasts had a bloodline. Since I had lied and said I could detect bloodlines only. Silva had not told anyone that I could help awaken bloodlines because I had led her to believe it was only due to Aspen. She had believed it because it was common for beasts of the same element to help eachother.
Most people would leave their beasts with a trainer in hopes that their beast had a bloodline to awaken. If no bloodline awakened after six months it was assumed the beast did not inherent one. Even the attempt to awaken a bloodline was far from cheap. So my service was well sought after. More importantly it got me respect and appreciation from many of my fellow students.
From feeding class we moved to the gym. Everyone took a turn in a gym. Some had at home training rooms. Others rented special training rooms. I made do with the gym and training at home. I locked Aspen into the pull system on a beast treadmill. It was essentially a bungee cord system that pulled him back. He was strong enough now that speed alone was not a challenge. We trained through lunch. We trained until the announcement came.
"Would Holly ValeMark, Danielle IceDark, Alaric Shepherd, Silva White, Jason Whip, Kendra NightFlower, Lei LightStorm, Carlos Green, Leana NightSnow, and Susan GreenHill please make their way to the front of the school." I stopped. Ten names? There were only supposed to be three slots. What is going on? Even so I made my way to the front of the school. The others seem just as confused as I was. We looked between eachother. Still HeartLand walked in front of us.
"Come along everyone." We followed him to a van. Where we climbed in. I was forced to put Aspen in the Domain.
{Select Domain Elements...} Right my talents! {Water, Grass, Ice, Wind} As far as I knew Kitsunes typically had power over fire. Meanwhile mine had Ice and Forest bloodlines. The bigger my Domain the more elements I could have active. Aspen had a field day.
We pulled up to the Glendale Breeding Facility. Glendale Breeding housed at least a dozen breeding pairs of various species. They employed breeders, feeders, researchers, and explorers. Since new beasts were found every year it was important for all breeding facilities.
I looked around as we walked inside. HeartLand turned to look at us. "Alright so originally only three of you were going to get a second egg from the school. However, a group of explorers bought back several unknown eggs. They are all from a fire environment. If none of you are interested in the unidentified eggs then you will still receive an egg but they all were bred here."
I looked at the others and rolled my eyes.
Stepping forward I said, "I would like a look at those eggs. A fire type would go well since I have an ice type now."
Silva stepped up beside me. "If Alaric is taking a look so am I." She looked at me, "If you see a good egg that doesn't fit with you let me know? I will be happy to pay you for your assistance, of course." Jason and Leana gave me a nod as they joined as well. All people I had helped with their beasts.
HeartLand clapped his hands together as two assistants stepped forward. "Those of you going to the known eggs go with Ms. FinJet. Those of you who want to have a look at the new arrivas, go with Ms. SwimNight."
We split up and followed. I wasn't sure where the other group went but we took an elevator up to the forth floor.
From there we move to a set of heavy red and orange double doors. "The new unknown eggs are being housed in here," she pushed the door open. Inside heat beat down on us. "We have to keep it warm in here until we know the eggs will survive at a lower temperature."
I moved forward. My eyes scanning the eggs. Scanned back and forth. Red eggs. Grey eggs. Black. Orange. Dark yellow. I stopped in front of one. Yellow with bright red swirls.

"Leana!" I looked towards her. "You like bugs don't you? Especially spiders?" She skipped to me with a wide smile.
"Yes! I adore spiders!" She practically bounced where she stood. "100,000? Will that be enough?"
"I don't know. For an egg like this..." I shook my head.
She looked at me. Then her gaze scanned the eggs close to us. A broze egg went for 200,000 easily.
"It must have quite the bloodline," she mused. "150,000."
I smiled. These eggs were free to us. I lifted the egg and handed it over. "I think you will find you got quite the bargain."
She smiled and took the egg from me, "I'm sure. With that talent I expect you will breed some truly powerful beasts." She took her egg and moved back to the others.
I looked at Jason, "Your turn." To my left was a red egg with dark red and black spots.

I made my way through a few more row before I lifted the egg out to her, "Silva." She squealed in delight. She took hold of the egg.
Her gaze locking with mine, "When I awaken its Bloodline ... I will give you a bonus."
"I look forward to it," I told her.
I moved between the shelves to look for my own egg. Dud after dud. Few people could handle fire type beasts. They tended to have aggressive personalities and were difficult to raise. Even so their attack power made them popular.
Finally I stopped in front of one. Dark red with dark grey and black swirls. I lifted it with a smile. With my egg in hand I moved towards the others. They looked at my egg with curiosity. SwimNight looked between all of us. Her eyes lingered on me. Don't even think about it. I'm not free and neither are my services.
"Have you all chosen?"
The others looked at me. "I think we will all do just fine with these eggs." I smiled. I was very confident in my selections. I caressed the surface of the egg with my thumb.
"You may place them within your domain and bind them then."
We were quick to do so. My eyes glanced around the room. Four other eggs caught my attention. Only two of them had a bloodline.
Even so I wasn't overly worried. Those two eggs were single elements. Whoever claimed them would have their work cut out for them.
With that Ms. SwimNight led us from the room. She made sure the door were shut securely behind us.
We followed her to another room. "The Head Master is waiting for you inside." Sure enough he sat behind a desk within. The others sat in chairs watching us. "Took you long enough," Holly sneered.
Lei smirked, "Bet they ended up chasing random eggs."
Head master Glendale turned on them. "You two should learn to respect the talented. According to the report I received Alaric selected every egg they chose. I am also certain he selected the best one for himself," he looked at me with a raised eyebrow.
I shrugged, "That is relative. I selected eggs based on their bloodlines. My talent only allows me to tell if a blood is positive or negative and a general idea of what it is. I selected a bloodline that follows canines. Jason got one with feline, Leana got a bug bloodline, and Silva monkey." I looked bored with it. "They may not start out great but their bloodlines are all powerful and should yield powerful beasts as long as they are raised well."
"You chose our eggs based on bloodline?" Jason asked. His eyes wide. He yanked out his phone.
"You know my talent. At this point it isn't a secret. We all know I can identify if a beast has a bloodline."
"Yeah," Sliva said, "but we thought the beast had to be hatched first."
I stared at her confused, "Then why let me pick your eggs?"
"You selected high grade eggs before. Everyone assumed you could identify a beast based off its egg. Like the appraisers do," Leana gapped.
I rolled my eyes. All three of them had their phones out now.
"Hey Dad... Can you send me an advance on my allowance? ... Listen that guy at school with the bloodline talent?... Yeah him, he picked me out a egg with a high grade feline bloodline... Fire type... 150,000... Sure his number is-"
"Hello?... Mom I need you to send me more money!... I got a high grade fire bloodline thanks to my friend in healer class with me... 150,000... Monkey, why? THANK YOU"
"Daddy I need more money!... The big shot at school picked out a high grade fire bug bloodline for me! I only gave him 150,000!... Exactly."
In quick succession my phone got alerts. I looked and smiled. Not a bad days work. Not bad at all.
