Chapter 19 - I am scared

Dr Miller nodded and replied. "I understand you are shocked, and understandably so. Belle Rose is brave and strong. We could tell she was scared and in pain. One of the nurses had told me that Belle Rose tried not to scream while they were working on her, and she had allowed them to continue with what they were doing. Can you tell me what happened?" Aunt Victoria nodded and replied.

"We were at Hohenzollern Castle for a school trip and about to leave the building when Prince Willem appeared. Mrs Vary came, and Belle Rose stood behind her with the other girls. Belle Rose was the last girl to be introduced to Prince Willem, and she saw Luke. He is the one who stabbed and injured her. He was reaching for his sock, and her best friend pushed forward Belle Rose. Before the rest could work out what was happening, Luke charged forward, and Belle Rose stood between him and Prince Willem. Luke stabbed her thrice, once in the abdomen, the second from her left elbow to her left wrist and the last one from her right knee down to her right ankle."

"Belle Rose kicked the second knife out of his hand and collapsed backwards. Her uncle and I raced forward. Her uncle quickly placed pressure on her right ankle, and I knelt next to her. Everyone was shocked and led outside the building by one of my colleagues. I was proud of Belle Rose but livid at Luke." Dr Miller knew Aunt Victoria was in shock and knew she was not expecting Belle Rose to get stabbed by one of her classmates.

Dr Miller knew he had to tell her and her family the news. Dr Miller slowly calmed his heart and replied. "Unfortunately, Belle Rose will need an operation to have the remaining knife in her abdomen to fix her left forearm and her right ankle. I am hoping that she will have the operation later on today, but I have to speak to the rest of the surgery team. She must use crutches to walk around and return here for a check-up."

"The emergency doctors had asked Belle Rose some questions, and she responded to those questions. Belle Rose is trying to think positively and thinks about what she loves to do. Do you want to see her?" Grandfather Be, Grandmother Beth, Aunt Victoria, Uncle Victor, Theo, Megan, and Tarzan. They nodded and allowed Dr Miller and one of the emergency nurses. To lead them to the bay where Belle Rose was, and Dr Miller told them to brace themselves.

Belle Rose smiled when she saw her father's family and Grandmother Beth standing beside her. Before her father's family came to see her, a nurse covered Belle Rose's left forearm and right ankle with three white blankets. Belle Rose gave her aunt a small wave and spoke.

"Whatever you do, please don't look under the three blankets because of the blood, knife, and I am feeling cold. I can't describe the pain because the pain is unbearable, and what did the doctor inform you about?" Belle Rose's family were stunned because they had never seen Belle Rose in so much pain and hospital. Grandmother Beth wiped a sweat from Belle Rose's forehead and could see the pain in Belle Rose's eyes.

Uncle Victor knew that seeing Belle Rose in so much pain was utterly new to his wife, and he replied, "He told us that you are going to have surgery to have the remaining knife out, to fix your left forearm and right ankle. You will be on crutches for a while and must return here for a check-up. We don't know how long the operation will take and how long you have to be in the hospital?"

Belle Rose could not believe she was going to have an operation; however, she knew she had to have an operation to survive. Belle Rose tried to remain calm even though the pain was flaring up, and Grandmother Beth held her right hand.

Belle Rose was grateful that her father's family was there for her and wanted to know what Luke was even thinking about murdering Prince Willem and Ayers. Belle Rose took some deep breaths and spoke. "I am not going to lie here, but I am scared."

Grandmother Beth gently stroked her face and replied. "You are not the only one; we are here for you, and your aunt's family are heading to the Netherlands because your uncle received some devastating news. But I think they will stay at the hotel and check on you before doing anything else."

Belle Rose glanced at Uncle Victor, and he replied. "Your grandmother is speaking the truth, and I haven't got my head around it. I received a phone call on the way here, and I am so glad I had my children with me. But then I heard that you got stabbed, and I knew I could inform my wife about what was going on."

"Plus, we decided what to do and where to go. But I knew we wanted to hear what would happen to you and take things from there. However, I want to see how you are and listen to what happens. We were not expecting what happened to you and see how you are."

Belle Rose knew her father's family was worried about Uncle Victor's family and her. Belle Rose slowly calmed down and spoke. "I hope you get some good news and have to take my time to recover. But any news about my worthless parents and the man they had chosen?" Grandfather Ben nodded and replied.

"They are back home from their trip, and Ayers is livid at your heartless parents for not allowing him to hear what the pope had announced. Your parents will wait for you at the school tomorrow to prepare for the non-existent wedding, but I think they want to speak to you first."

"However, we know now you are not going back with your classmates and will show them you are in charge."
