Jan. 24th (Monday)
I got coffee and donuts before going to the tattoo parlor. When I got there, I saw Callen and Gavin was setting everything up in the small waiting area like usual and Daisy was behind the counter doing something on her phone. I took a deep breath before walking into the parlor. They all looked to see me after the lights went off along with the doorbell. Daisy ran around the counter and towards me when she saw me.
"Don't ruin the coffee and food!" Gavin yelled before Daisy got to me.
Daisy flipped him off and I laughed. I put the stuff on the counter then Daisy hugged me.
"I'm glad you are back." She said as she hugged me.
"Thanks." I said and she nodded her head before ending the hug.
"I would have sent a search party out for you but I knew you were okay thanks to this guy." Gavin said hitting Callen's back as they got coffee.
I walked towards the counter and Daisy followed.
"Callen has your paycheck it's not much since you didn't work that much but it's a little bit of money." Gavin said as I drunk some of my coffee.
Callen signed something then Gavin shook his head.
I looked at Daisy and she smiled at me.
"He said he paid you for the days that you weren't here." Daisy said.
"Lucky." Gavin said before grabbing a donut.
"You want to start lessons again?" She whispered to me.
I nodded my head and she smiled before hugging me.
We all started work not long after that and when it got close to lunch time, Daisy and I were talking about what we wanted to eat when Callen stopped on my right side.
"Are you done until later?" Daisy asked while signing it.
Callen nodded his head before looking at me and Daisy smiled.
I signed I'm fine. Not sick.
He nodded his head at me before holding his left hand out towards me.
"I think he wants you to go eat lunch with him." Daisy said.
I signed no, going with Daisy.
He gave me a look as Daisy shook her head.
"Kat, just go. I'll be fine." Daisy said.
"I don't know enough sign language yet." I said turning to look at her so Callen wouldn't know what I was saying if he read my lips.
Callen turned my stool around to face him then he lowered his face before kissing me. It was a short kiss and I knew my eyes were big because I didn't expect it. He just smiled at me before pulling me out of my chair then interlacing our fingers together then leading the way to the front door.
Once we got outside and a little bit away from the parlor, I took my hand away from his and stopped then he turned to face me.
I started to sign then stopped because I didn't know how to sign what I wanted to ask. I shook my head before touching my lips with my fingers on my right hand. He gave me a look before smiling. I shook my head before walking ahead of him. I went to the first place to eat I saw which was Hal's Restaurant. We got a table in the back and he sat down across the table from me. After ordering our drinks, the waitress left to give us a minute to figure out what we wanted to eat. I took out my phone and decided if I couldn't sign what I wanted to tell him then I would text it to him.
Why did you kiss me? – Me
He felt his phone vibrate and he took it out of his pocket. He looked at it then shook his head before looking at me. He looked back at his phone and started typing something.
Because that's what people do when they like someone Kat. – Callen
We barely know each other and can hardly communicate so how can you possibly know you like me? – Me
Seriously? Kat, it's not all about us being able to communicate using sign language. I've shown you through my actions that I like you and I honestly don't see you not knowing that much sign language right now as a reason for us not to date. I mean I can teach you more sign language that's not a problem but I like you the way you are. Even without being able to know every word you are saying, I know enough about you from your actions, nonverbal cues, etc. to know you are a kind, nice person and I like you. – Callen
I think we should get to know each other better before we decide to date each other. – Me
Alright fine I can deal with that just remember I already like you and I don't regret kissing you. I do wish you would have kissed me back or closed your eyes though. – Callen
I shook my head before putting my phone on the table then he looked at me before smiling as he put his phone back in his pocket.
We got done eating 40 minutes later then we went back to the parlor and Callen had just enough time to get his stuff ready for his next client.
