Chapter 38: Jerka's Intervention - Dialga Rises Again
[Attached skill: Shadow's Endurance
-> The attached skill gets activated upon using Toughened Endurance.
-> The physical body becomes shadow-like and turns immune to all physical attacks and magic attacks. Caution: Not applied to dark attribute.
-> Additionally, the user can change his shape as a result of the shadow-body.]
[Your body momentarily turned into a shadow; however, knowing fully well that the dark attributed attack would cause damage, you changed the structure of your body momentarily, letting the blade pass by and hit the ground behind you. Due to the extreme speed of the attack, your efforts weren't seen, and it felt as if you took the attack head-on and stood unscathed.]
[Dialga stared at you in anger. The words that you returned, taunting him the same way he had done to you, pricked like a thorn. He didn't take eyes off of you as he simply smirked at your cheap trick. While others were deceived, the higher-ranking ones followed your movements. Yet, it was a fact that you dodged the attack.]
["Psst, cheap tricks," Dialga said before raising his hand and covering his fist with a dark aura. "Kakakaka, I'll show you the result of mocking me." - what could be considered a bluff, turned out to be a full-out battle!]
[Dialga conserved no energy. With his top speed, he ran in your direction - vanishing from the site and appeared right next to you within a second! Your eyes couldn't follow his movements. You noticed his black eyes as he appeared right in front of you. As if in slow motion, you noticed his punch speeding towards you. Your mind seemingly had become faster, yet your body couldn't react. BAM!]
[A punch landed right at your face, squashing your nose and jaw. The impact traveled all over your body, damaging your liver, lungs, stomach, pancreas, and the gall bladder. But the major damage was sustained by your eyes, one of which popped out while it still remained attached to the socket with what seemed like a small thread. Your teeth went flying along with you. You landed fifty meters behind, on the ground with your disfigured face.]
[Your head spun like crazy after the attack. Every inch of your body ached, but you hadn't given up. Albeit a big surprise, you simply pulled yourself up. "Ha…", with one of your eyeballs intact, you looked at your other eyeball that almost fell to the ground. You couldn't help but chuckle with the broken teeth of yours.]
['Of course, fighting a Wyvern wouldn't be easy.', you thought to yourself before pulling yourself up. 'Holding back? Why? I want to deliver a surprise attack? Ha… I want to fight the Goblin King? Ha… The Wyvern is the toughest enemy, the most intelligent one in the battlefield and by no means, a weakling.', you grit your teeth, holes visible due to the vanished teeth. You clenched your fist as you uttered under your breath, "Going all out it is then…"]
[Dialga walked slowly. He flexed his arms and body, enjoying the face of horror of the ogre army who witnessed you flying away. In your team, Laiya, Ijan, and Crook, who were close by, ran at full speed towards you. They were genuinely worried about you. Their first thought was to save you. However, the Wyvern wouldn't let that happen.]
[Dialga turned his gaze towards the three. Almost instantly, he raised his left hand and conjured a ball of dark energy which spread evenly all over his hand. Seconds later, three portals appeared right beside the three out of which came three black-colored arms made out of darkness.]
[The arms grabbed their necks. With a smirk, he increased the strength of the grip. Cough! All three of them started to cough initially, but as the grip became tighter, the pain increased. Their bodies started to levitate as the arms slowly lifted them upwards. Dialga wanted to kill them painfully… but he missed something.]
['Full Recovery…', you ended up using one of the full recoveries. Immediately after that, you used the best skills that you could come up with.]
Ding!
[You have used the skill: Rage of the Berserker.]
Ding!
[Attached skill, Rage of the Shadows has been activated.]
[Dialga felt a sudden chill. His senses screamed out loudly. He could see something moving within the shadows… or rather, his shadow itself had started to move. His eyes widened as he noticed the shadow slowly materializing. First, it was the arm, which instantly shot up aimed at his face - to attack him!]
[Dialga jumped high and dodged the attack, but his astonishment only increased as he noticed his shadow stuck to the ground. The materialization continued, and the shadow manifested into a being that closely resembled Dialga - in fact, an exact copy!]
[Dialga's concentration broke, forcing him to stop using his skill - Laiya, Ijan, and Crook were freed. They fell to the ground with a thud and gasped for air as they grabbed their own necks and rubbed gently. Their pupils had seemingly dilated, which now slowly regained the shape.]
[You, on the other hand, appeared right beside Dialga. You had used the Giant's Stride and Shadow Leap, the attached skill along with it, and teleported instantly to where Dialga's shadow was. Then you proceeded to jump, and with the insane amount of strength, you matched Dialga's height.]
[Dialga turned to the left and noticed you. Instantly, he scanned the features… his jaws almost dropped. He was confused. Clearly, he had seen that you were at death's door and, if not, at least, you had suffered heavy damage. Yet now, you appeared beside him, completely unscathed.]
[You noticed that you had jumped higher than Dialga. As both of you reached a high point, you started falling back to the ground. You didn't want to miss this chance. Taking advantage of the free-fall to amplify the damage, you clenched your fist and conjured all the strength that you could muster. You extended your left hand that grabbed the boar-skin that Dialga wore.]
[BAM!!! An explosive punch landed on Dialga's chest, sending him straight towards the ground. BOOM! The cloud of dust erupted and covered the scene.]
[After the recent leap in your attributes, your strength had increased tremendously. With the Rage of Berserker, it transcended further. Finally, thanks to your heavy weight, the fall amplified it by at least three times! The damage dealt was real, but you were by no means done yet.]
[As you still accelerated to the ground, you pinpointed Dialga thanks to your high perception. You folded your leg and formed a hammer out of your gigantic and extremely sturdy knees.]
[A gigantic burst of wind accompanied your elegant fall. The cloud of dust dispersed as you closed in. The scene became clear. Dialga was on the ground, in a crater that had been formed by his fall, finding it difficult to get up. There were weird cracks all over his body. Adding to that, your punch previously to his chest had seemingly left an imprint… but none of them were compared to what you were doing now.]
[Dialga's eyes widened as he, at the last second, noticed your knee right in front of his face. Cr-creak! Crack! BOOM! Another explosive fall reverberated in the area combined with the creaking and cracking of bones and armor at the same time.]
[Another cloud of dust was created which settled in no time. Dialga's body was covered in bruises. His armored skin had been broken. Foam was coming out of his mouth, but more than that, blood started dripping down his nails and eyes.]
[You wanted to recheck if this was an act or not, but you confirmed the truth as you looked at his HP. Only one percent was left. While the battle was not all that intense with continuous exchange of blows, you believed that both of your attacks were impressive.]
[You bent forward, placing your right hand on Dialga's neck, ready to deal the final damage. Before killing him, you added a few words, "I'm confused as to why you didn't transform into your original body. Your decision perhaps, but that was what cost you your life." With constant sighs, you also added, "I don't know why you joined the goblins. Not sure what you were promised. Not sure how valuable it was… one thing for sure, it couldn't have been more precious than your life."]
[Dialga retained minimal consciousness. He heard what you said; however, he failed to respond. You moved your hand forward and finally placed it once again on his neck, this time, snapping it in just one try and killing the Dark Wyvern.]
Ding
[You have killed a Dark Wyvern.]
[You have leveled up.]
[You have leveled up.]
[You have leveled up.]
[You were now level 55.]
[While extremely happy about it, you maintained your concentration. You thought about something else.]
[You wondered, 'Can I collect his blood? It could help me later…' A wyvern's blood is precious, so you didn't want to let it go. You wanted a bottle or coconut shell or something similar that could store it… but the system was there for you.]
Ding!
[You can store the corpse in the inventory. The system will process the corpse and will separate things based on your demand.]
['Oh? Then can you extract blood from the corpse too?', you asked to which you received a positive answer.]
Ding!
[Affirmative.]
['Can you do that right now?', the moment you said that, the system got into work. Within a second, Dialga's body dried up. Its skin and heavy broken armor stuck to its skin.]
Ding!
[Procedure completed. The system has stored 8 bottles of Dark Wyvern's blood in the inventory.]
["Excellent. With this-", you were already formulating the plans for the future, but as if trying to wake you up from reality, a sudden war cry echoed.]
["Destroy him", you recognized this voice. "Jerka?", you whispered to yourself, turning back towards the direction of the voice only to notice Dialga's shadow being ripped apart. Although it reconstructed itself, what you noticed in front of you came as a surprise and revelation.]
[Now stood in front of you, the embodied version of Dialga.]
["…really?", you sighed, adding, "Jerka, you bastard!"]
