Chapter 15 - Chapter 15

Lila throat was already so dry due to shrieking screaming, she clenched her fists and felt her nails digging into the skin of her palm as she took in the terrifying scene. She was sure that her nail imprint would leave a bruise.Suddenly she felt her eyes obstructed, as if an invisible force was blocking her eyes. Then she felt an Intense object curl wrap around her hand and drag her to the floor, she felt debris enter her eyes hurting her in the process. She finally managed to open her eyes to reveal the madly look of a white-haired woman with a scar running through her face from her eyebrows to her mouth brandishing a knife with a sadistic smile on her lips.

"Lila, baby,Lila baby, Lila, come on, it's safe now,it will only hurt a little darling Lila" the woman said with a wry smile as she twirled the knife on her free hand. Despite Leila's screams, the woman ignored her as she drew imaginary lines on Lila's hand. Lila kicked and tried to move her hand but to no avail as the strange woman overpowered her. Suddenly her surroundings changed, and Mia's worried look appeared before her. Startled, Lila realized it was a dream and quickly rose from the bed. She was sure that someone outside the door would hear her heartbeat due to how loud it was. She examined her hand, relieved to find it bloodless and with no markings.

"It was a dream, are you okay, Lila?" Mia asked her with worry on her face as she rubbed her back in an attempt to calm her down as Lila was sweating and struggling to catch her breath.

Suddenly, Lila burst out in tears as she hugged mia tightly.

Mia held Lila in her soft embrace, cupping her around the shoulder and speaking quietly to her friend in a bid to calm down the tempest raging within the latter. Lila's tears began to flow unhindered, her sobs restrained by only her trembling mouth and a strong will to keep her mind from remembering her dreams' morbid imagery. Mia held her at arm's length and wiped away the tears from Lila's cheeks and ran her hand through her hair. Tears rolled down her cheeks and her sobs became silent.

"Do you want to share your dream with me?" Mia tried to inquire softly, her voice a sharp sweetness in the silence of the room. She noticed that Lila had already calmed down a little, a sign that she was no longer in trance from whatever she dreamt about.

Lila nodded, and her voice trembled along with her as she made a recount of what she had seen in her dream. Starting with the eerie lack of visual reference where she got trapped where she got trapped at first and ending up with the beautiful re-union along with her parents in some unknown village even though they couldn't see her, each of her experiences unfolded like finding one's self right in the middle of a surreal story. Her voice struggled to convey her experience as she recounted the horrific assault which broke the thin going ons that had prevailed, the fear plainly visible in her trembling words.

"I really miss my mom," Lila sighed with pain and sorrow ebbed in her voice as she spoke at the end of her narration.

"We'll find our parents soon, We should just keep our hope and not to give up soon," Mia tried to lift her friend properly and brought her words full of steadiness and reassurance as she held her hand softly.

Lila was able to muster a slightly depressed smile, Mia really suggested she should go take a warm shower before others servents woke up to get themselves ready to do the normal routines. Kindly she thanked Mia as she stood up from her chair and with a clumsy tread, she went to the direction of the bathroom to wash herself as she she felt her clothes stick to her body due to the sweat.

Chapter: The Awakening

Zade's eyes snapped open at the sudden clamor echoing through the halls, jolting him from his slumber. With a groan, he pushed himself up from the comfort of his bed, his mind still heavy with the remnants of sleep. "What now?" he grumbled under his breath, his voice thick with irritation as he reached for his robe.

Tying the garment around his frame with practiced ease, Zade strode purposefully out of his chamber, his steps echoing against the cool stone floor. The noise grew louder as he neared the source, a chaotic symphony of voices mingling in the predawn air.

"What's going on?" Zade demanded, his tone cutting through the din as he emerged into the main courtyard. The gathered wolves fell silent, their eyes turning towards him with a mixture of reverence and trepidation.

"Alpha, we greet you," they intoned in unison, their voices blending into a single chorus of respect.

Zade acknowledged their salutations with a nod of his head, his gaze scanning the crowd until it settled upon a figure standing apart from the rest. She was cloaked in a cloak of deep crimson, the fabric billowing around her like flames caught in a gentle breeze. Her features were obscured by the shadows of her hood, but Zade could sense the power emanating from her form.

The pack's prophetess.

She stood with an air of quiet authority, her presence commanding the attention of all who beheld her. Though her outward appearance was like that of a child, there was no denying the strength that radiated from her being.

"Prophetess," Zade greeted her with a respectful voice, his voice reverent as he addressed the keeper of their pack's ancient wisdom. "What brings you here at this hour?"

The prophetess inclined her head in acknowledgment, her gaze piercing beneath the depths of her hood. "Alpha Zade," she replied, her voice like the echo of distant thunder, rumbling with a weight of ages. "There is a matter of great urgency that requires your attention."

"Why don't we discuss this in private" he said while leading her to the direction of his office.
