Lucien narrowed his eyes, studying the two men with suspicion. They didn't seem immediately dangerous, but his father had trusted them far too quickly for his liking. What if they were lying?

Still, he had discussed this at length with Cassius, and his father had insisted they were their only reliable source of intelligence.

Reluctantly, Lucien had agreed to follow his father's lead.

He glanced at Lithira, who seemed composed. The potion she had taken to suppress her heat was working, keeping her stable for the time being.

"Shall we go, then? Time's short," Ibis broke the silence, prompting a nod from Lucien. The four of them began walking toward the pier.

"This place… even with the land so barren, there's still a thriving market." 

Lucien commented as they entered a bustling marketplace. He couldn't help but notice the stark contrast between the barren landscape and the bustling crowd.
