Chapter 11 - Snatched By The Red Dragon

Cassius sat perched in his chair, specially crafted to accommodate his supervisory duties.

With his legs crossed and a gun twirling effortlessly in his left hand, he exuded an air of confidence and authority.

His mood seemed buoyant until his sharp eyes caught sight of one of his men lagging, prompting a disdainful snort from him.

"Hey, you there!" he barked, pointing an accusatory finger at the man. "Don't you dare slack off, you weakling! You've barely worked for five hours and already you're in that sorry state. Pathetic."

The man quivered under Cassius's glare, his fear was palpable as he hastened to resume his task of felling a tree with his axe.

"I nearly sacrificed myself to those monsters while you were running away like cowards," Cassius continued, his voice dripping with contempt. "So don't you dare disappoint me!"

The rest of the workers snapped to attention, responding in unison, "Yes, sir!" before redoubling their efforts, determined to avoid Cassius's wrath.

"Yeah, keep those hands moving until you're spent. You all owe your lives to me," Cassius commanded, his tone dripping with authority.

Though the workers were terrified of Cassius, they also held immense respect for him. He had shielded them from the monsters, risking his own life as bait so they could escape.

It was a rare act of selflessness, especially in a world where lords often valued their own lives above those of their workers.

Suddenly, the air was pierced by the sound of something hurtling toward them at great speed.

As the sound drew nearer, Cassius sprang to his feet, motioning for the workers to cease their labor and prepare for whatever was approaching.

But to his relief, it was not a threat, but his wife, Amane, emerging from the darkness. In her hand, she held something small, white, and round.

"Darling, what are you doing? You scared me," Cassius sighed, his tone softening as he looked at his lovely wife.

Even in the brief moments they were apart, he found himself missing her terribly. 'It must be because she misses me just as much that's why she was in such a hurry,' he mused with confidence.

"Hubby! Look what I found! Garlics! I could finally cook instead of eating all that disgusting food Gibson gives us!"

Amane exclaimed, her eyes sparkling as she showed Cassius the small, white bulbs in her hand. Her red eyes seemed to gleam even brighter, resembling rubies under the sunlight.

Cassius felt a surge of affection as he grabbed his chest, almost got a heart attack from all the cuteness.

'God, my wife is so adorable, I can't!' he thought, his heart fluttering with love.

But he knew they had to keep up appearances with the workers around, so he maintained his composure.

"Good job, my wife. I can't wait to taste your food!" he said warmly, masking his inner feelings.

"Don't worry, I will make the best food in this whole lame world!" Amane declared proudly.

"Ah, anyway, a red giant dragon is coming our way," she added nonchalantly.

"What?"

As Cassius heard the screeches drawing nearer, he glanced upward to see the looming figure of the giant dragon, its massive wingspan casting a shadow over the entire area.

The workers, paralyzed with fear, cowered on the ground as the dragon passed overhead, its wings stretching as wide as a football field.

Despite the chaos unfolding around him, Cassius remained rooted in place, his eyes fixed on the majestic creature soaring above.

"Finally, the Almighty opponent has arrived!" he declared with a smirk, he eagerly awaited the chance to face off against the red dragon.

Lucien stood hesitantly in front of the door, his hand poised to open it. However, the sudden sound of gunshots and thunder outside made him pause, and he let out a heavy sigh.

'What are those two dummies up to now?' he thought, facepalming before finally opening the door.

To his astonishment, he found his parents engaged in a fierce battle with a terrifying creature—something even Lucien, as a mere normie, recognized.

"What the hell, did you two bring that thing here?!" Lucien shouted at the top of his lungs, though his parents seemed oblivious to his presence.

Cassius was occupied with his array of firearms, while Amane wielded a massive purple sword as she leapt toward the flying dragon. However, the creature dodged her attack with alarming agility.

All of those attacks did nothing to the dragon. It was merely too strong for them which has a low level.

"No! Don't provoke 'The Inferno Sovereign Dragon'! She only seeks to claim one of us to satisfy her desire!" Gibson shouted frantically.

Of course, Amane and Cassius didn't give a fuck about it.

Lucien ran his hands through his hair in frustration. He couldn't afford another disaster in the village; he didn't want all his efforts to go to waste.

As he pondered his options, the sudden screech of the dragon made him jump, its menacing gaze locking onto him like prey. Cold sweat formed on his temples as panic surged through him.

In a heartbeat, the dragon seized him, lifting him effortlessly into the air. Lucien's screams echoed through the village as he struggled futilely against the dragon's powerful grip.

"Help me!" he cried out desperately, his voice drowned out by the roar of the dragon's wings.

It was a terrifying realization that he was at the mercy of the beast, his attempts to break free proving futile against its immense strength.

He looked above to see his parents watching him with a curious mix of indifference and resignation.

"Why are you both just standing there? Can't you see your son is being snatched by a dragon?" Lucien's voice trembled with fear and frustration.

With a lazy gesture, Cassius attempted to shoot the dragon with his revolver, but the bullets merely bounced off its impenetrable scales.

"Nah, That creature's scale is tougher than steel. just give up son." Cassius just shrugged.

"Yeah, you will be transmigrated again anyway. I couldn't do anything since I lost all my MP." Amane added, her once-glowing katana now reduced to an ordinary blade.

Lucien turned to his sister, his eyes pleading for help, only to be met with disappointment. "Sorry, bro, but that dragon's out of my league," she said, shrugging.

"Anyway, folks, check out this crazy situation! A dragon just swooped in and snatched my brother! Another day in our wacky new world," Seren exclaimed, already live-streaming the event on her mobile app, Utub, under the theme of "Daily Vlogs in Another World."

Lucien was utterly flabbergasted. A whirlwind of emotions—anger, terror, annoyance—swirled within him, creating a storm of turmoil.

But the most frightening realization dawned upon him as the dragon began retreating into the forest.

"WHAT AN ASSHOLE! I SWEAR, IF I DIE, I WILL HAUNT THE THREE OF YOU!" Lucien's finger trembled as he pointed accusingly at his parents and Seren, who remained absorbed in her live streaming.

His parents merely waved their hands in a casual farewell. "Take care, son, that dragon just wants to have sex with you," Cassius shouted, but Lucien couldn't hear it.

"NO! I DON'T WANT TO DIE AGAIN!"

"SOMEONE SAVE ME!"

"AAAAAA----"

"Don't worry, My Lord, it's just mating season for the dragons. It always hunting in our village once a year. You'll be back in seven days," Gibson screamed after him, attempting to reassure him amidst the chaos.

But Lucien's panicked cries drowned out his words, echoing long after the dragon disappeared into the forest.
