I should ask some people for now.
So Jiang Xíngxīng approached the guards stationed next to the villages entrance.
„Hello there, may I ask you where exactly I am right now?"
One of the two burly man looking a bit confused said mockingly „Hmpf, who wants to know."
„And what's up with that ridiculous outfit you're wearing" the other man continued.
„And go away stop bothering us Crazy!"
What do they mean?
Oh shit, I completly forgot! I'm still in my advanced crew escape suit because of the rocket launch.
Cis is there any way to change my outfit at the moment?
You have a standart outfit in your Inventory but I wouldnt recomend changing right now
Why is that? Do you expect me to continue walking around in this?
Oh I didn't know you were such an exhibitionist, by all means you can change right here and now
That's not what I … argh forget it. Let's first find a place to change outside the village.
…
What is this!? I look like a beggar?
Jiang Xíngxīng was now wearing ragged mostly grey cloths wich smelled awfully.
I think it suits you perfectly
Oh shut up.
Well that's not important at least now I will not stand out that much.
And at least there were some copper coins in the inventory.
Hey CIS what it the currency here?
Copper coins dummie
And…
Urgh you would findout soon enough yourself so I'll tell you as your great all knowing System
You know, it really hurts me hearing you speak like that stop beeing so annoying and just say it.
You are no fun.
There are copper, silver and gold coins as mortal curency. 1 gold is 100 silver and 1 silver is 10 copper. You right now have 2 copper wich would be enough to buy yourself a loaf of bread. I hope you are thankful for my generosity
Jiang Xíngxīng made his way into the village, still wearing his new, but unpleasantly smelling clothes. The sun was warm overhead, and he felt sweat on his forehead. The path was rough, and he had to climb over some stones and roots. Finally, he reached the first houses of Greenwood Village.
He looked around and noticed that the buildings were made of sturdy wood and stone. The smell of freshly baked bread and cooking stews filled the air. People were busy with their daily tasks, some carrying baskets of vegetables, others leading animals along the streets.
Jiang approached a small market stall, which was stocked with various fruits and vegetables. An older woman stood behind it, carefully arranging her goods.
"Excuse me," Jiang said cautiously, "could you tell me where I am?"
The woman looked at him curiously and smiled. "You are in Greenwood Village, young man. Are you new here?"
"Yes, I am," Jiang replied. "Could you possibly help me? I am looking for a place where I can learn about this world and maybe get started."
The woman nodded. "Go to the town hall; it's the large building in the center of the village. The mayor is a kind man and often helps newcomers."
Jiang thanked her and made his way to the town hall. On his way, he noticed people staring at him. Of course, he thought, I look like a beggar. Nevertheless, he finally reached the town hall and entered through the heavy wooden doors.
The interior was cool and spacious, with a large table in the center and several chairs around it. At a smaller desk, a middle-aged man was writing in a thick book. He looked up as Jiang entered.
"Can I help you?" the man asked kindly.
"Yes, I hope so," Jiang replied. "My name is Jiang Xíngxīng, and I am new here. I am looking for information about this world and ways to get started."
The man smiled. "Welcome, Jiang. My name is Mayor Ren. You are in luck; we are used to seeing new faces from time to time. What exactly would you like to know?"
"Well, I have heard about something called Cultivation. Can you tell me more about it?" Jiang asked.
The mayor nodded. "Cultivation is the way to harness inner powers and the energy of the world to improve one's abilities and become more powerful. There are many levels and techniques, but it requires discipline and patience."
Jiang felt his curiosity growing. "Is there anyone in this village who can teach me how to start with Cultivation?"
The mayor thought for a moment. "Yes, Master Liu is a respected cultivator and lives on the outskirts of the village. He sometimes takes on students if he sees potential in them. You could talk to him."
"Thank you very much, Mayor Ren. I will go to him immediately," Jiang said and left the town hall, heading towards Master Liu's house.
When he reached the small but well-kept house on the edge of the village, he knocked on the door. An older man opened it, his face deeply lined with wrinkles, but his eyes were sharp and alert."What can I do for you?" Master Liu asked in a quiet but firm voice."Master Liu, my name is Jiang Xíngxīng. I am new here and wish to learn the path of Cultivation. Could you take me on as your student?" Jiang asked with a deep bow.Master Liu regarded him silently for a while. Then he slowly nodded. "Come in, Jiang. Let us see if you have what it takes."
