Hep Benn padded him on the shoulder, but continued crying in his arms.
On their way home, Hep Benn was still sobbing uncontrollably, like an aggrieved young lady. Long Kongkong could only follow beside her, feeling at a loss.
"Sister Hep, don't cry anymore. I was wrong," Long Kongkong comforted her.
"What did you do wrong?" Hep Benn stammered, fighting back tears.
A twitch played at the corner of Long Kongkong's mouth. How was I supposed to know what I did wrong?
"I was wrong about everything. Whatever you say I did wrong, that's what I was wrong about," Long Kongkong said compliantly.
"Are you just pacifying me?" Hep Benn turned her head and gave him a glance.
Seeing her tear-streaked face, Long Kongkong quickly reassured her, "No, no, I mean every word I say. I'll always listen to you from now on. Whatever you say, goes."
Hep Benn hmphed, the sobs finally subsiding.
