"I see. So you were forced here and reincarnated base on this guy's wish by Votarion? And now you lost all your power?" He asked with a tone full of confusion before he laughed it off as a joke.
"Flamaris, I'm serious here." My sister retorted. At this point her face is red like a tomato and her voice is so hoarse that she was at the point of crying.
"Of course, Elyssia and I'm here a goblin." He quipped, before continuing to laugh that he's wheezing so hard it echoed throughout the forest and almost breathe fire because of it.
"Flamaris!"
"Alright alright, let say I believe you because I'm your friend. Aren't you just searching for a reason that you're now lost your power?" He asked, still with a little joking tone before he cleared his throat to change his attitude. "Right?"
"Bu- Wh- That's-"
"Come on here, Elyssia. You're not the goddess of wisdom without having the knowledge to think of a lie, don't you?"
That Dragon has a pretty solid argument if I want to say.
"Thank you, boy" He said, turning his attention to me with a casual smile before he returned to my sister.
I jumped in reaction to his remark. He can read my mi- You know what, I'm not even surprise at this point. Over all the situation that I'm in currently, I even thought at one point that all of this was fever dream honestly.
"So, do you see my point Elyssia? Though maybe your statement was right, I can't just dismissed the other possibility that you're lying."
"Flamaris, You're so goddamn annoying"
"Correction, dragdamn is more accurate here." He winked.
"Oh my g- You know what? Just forget about it. Your dragon ass dictionary is so irritating."
"Isn't that the whole purpose it's created, Elys-"
"Actually, what the hell is wrong with y- God, this is so dumb!"
"Correction, Drag-"
"Got it! Thanks!" My sister shouted before both of them looked at me, to my completely loss and dumbfounded face, pondering about this completely unnecessary conversation before they cleared their throat with my sister taking the first line.
"So, back to where we were. Why did you take us here?" She asked coldly. Even comparing her tone with the cold doesn't even does justice to how her tone completely change. In short, she's a furious.
"I'm sorry? Didn't both of you that stepped into my territory here in Arthrada?" He retorted back, as his line were like a fire that melt my sister cold statement.
"Your territory?"
"Yes, you two just stepped into the Scarlet Forest." The Dragon exclaimed.
"Can you...say that one more time?" She asked in a perplexed tone, her cold tone now was changed into pure confusion.
"Both of you stepped into the Scarlet Forest. Is that not why you could met me at this point?"
Like her expression, I'm also a little dazed by his repeated answer, even bewildered by it. Was he trying to gaslight us or something? Do we even passed by a forest with red leaves?
"Flamaris, I didn't recount that we passed a forest that's even remarkably red." My sister said, trying to reconfirm his explanation.
"Yes, you did."
"But, I didn't?"
"But you did, that's why you are here." He said nonchalantly.
After a while, my sister then breathe in and out slowly to calm herself down before she asked Flamaris back.
"Then show us, where is this Scarlet Forest you were talking about?"
Trying to process my sister's question, Flamaris then stood up (With his four feet). He then proceed to chanted something as the realm of this mythical environment collapsed on itself with shards of glass falling from the sky to the ground. "If you are still unconvinced, Elyssia. Then I'll personally show it to you" He said with an annoyed voice before a white light shines from where the sky suppose to be.
Time has passed as I woke up in the same forest where we passed out moments before and watched that my sister has already standing, facing Flamaris with face full of annoyance before she sighed. "Show us where this Scarlet forest is Flamaris. If this Forest doesn't turn red, I'll put you accountable for it when I turned back to a goddess!"
With a slight chuckle, Flamaris answered. "Very well, but if what I said were true, that this forest were to turn red, then I want both of you to help with something, deal?"
"Deal!" She said without no hesitation.
Flamaris then form a snap, tensing up the moment more and more as he asked once more time. "You're sure, Elyssia?"
"Come on. You know you're wrong, that's why you're taking your sweet time, right?" My sister grinned, her head tilted to the side, trying to provoke Flamaris even more.
"Your amount of boldness you have even among gods and dragons always surprises me, Elyssia. Although, this time you already lost the deal before it even started"
He then snapped his finger as both of them waited. And waited. And wait-
"Huh, nothing happens. I thought this forest will turn red, Flamaris." She gibed, her hands are at her waist by this point whilst walking closer and closer to Flamaris to proof her dominance. "What's wrong, Flamaris? Oh, I see, I didn't thought you've colorblind." She added before laughing uncontrollably as Flamaris just look at her, still with a smirk.
"Eilrie! Did you hear me? I have someone that will guard you at the fire festival later this week" He shouted. His voice echoed throughout the forest with the shock wave from his voice shook even the mightiest tree.
"Now after you lose, you called your daughter here?" My sister wheezed, still laughing over her victory.
A while later, a large silhouette of a dragon appeared from the sky, blocking the sunlight to the forest with the wind from it wing flaps turned the forest into warm autumn red, shocking both me and my sister.
In that situation, I myself feel amazed seeing the forest slowly turned to red albeit in a stage like manner with my sister beside dropped to the sitting position, closing her mouth with her two hands in disbelieve.
"T-This is cheating" My sister protested before she gulped.
"It is, but is there a rule that doesn't allow it, beside this forest did turn red?" Flamaris snickered. Wicked smile faintly visible from his dragon expression, lifting his head up and looking at my sister with a condescending and sharp gaze.
"Looks like I got the last laugh here, little girl" He laughed, sending the forest waves and waves of winds, ravaging the forest as he make his body larger in every passing second, slowly shrinking my sister's ego more and more, right before stopping at halfway.
"Dad, you got into your bad habit again?" A feminine like voice echoed from the sky before a presence landed beside him, followed by a little scoff.
"You'll make every tree in my forest continue if you keep laughing like this every time you visited this forest." the dragon sighed.
"Sorry, sorry. I'm just a little excited that's all." Flamaris turned towards the dragon. His eyes still glancing sharply at my sister to which she's still terrified at to the point that she's trembling at the sight of it. You know, human instinct are hard to ignore even if you're a goddess.
"So, why do you call me here? I heard that you wanted to introduce me to someone that could guard me at the festival or something?" She said, still with an flustered voice.
"Oh yeah, I forgot to introduce you to this two. Eilrie, this is Aurel and Ardent. And otherwise"
Of course, both me and my sister already knew her, considering I'm the one that gave her a faint reference inside my light novel while Elyssia knows them by...knowing like how a normal individual would, by asking Flamaris...? Anyway, why is there a self commentary section here??
"And they will guide me when I'm having fun at the festival while you just sat there like a king?" She asked while side gazing her father, a faint hint of jealous was heard throughout.
"You're jealous, my child?"
"Not really, I'm just appalled by how you took all the credit that should've been mine. Heck, this festival was held because of me and the prince!"
"When I asked you to help me wipe out Ignarion's army a couple centuries ago, your reason is-"
"I'm too tired. And now I came to regret it."
"Not my problem."
"Dad! I was seven back then! I'm now fourteen, okay? fourteen!"
"So?"
"Dad!"
Um, if you were confused by how Flamaris' daughter said that she's only up by seven years even centuries has passed. The dragon and human year measure is different. That's the context.
"Well then, where were we? Ah yes, this two will be guarding you during the festival for three days" He said calmly. A smile spread throughout his face.
"H-Huh? This two brats?! They're the ones that's guarding me? What a joke!"
"Her attitude remind me of someone, you know who, sis?"
"I know, that purple haired brat. The next couple of days will be hell, ain't it great?" She muttered with a dead voice. I sighed in response.
"Eilrie, it's better than nothing. I don't want you to just stay at our house when both I and your mother going out to the festival."
"Shut the flare up, dad! It's better for me to just stay at home than gone out with this two children!"
"So, what is it for us if we were to go and guard her, Fl- fire dragon?" She asked still with an exasperated tone, knowing that if she were to said 'Flamaris', she'll immediately be burned to dust by her daughter by the amount of disrespect that she shows while saying that.
"I'll gave both of you permission to upgrade your level to four." He said sternly, while still focusing to calm to her daughter. "Eilrie, it's been decades you don't come out from our house. But please, consider-"
"No! I'm better just sleep in my house if you were to offer me be guarded by brats on your festival!"
"Eilrie-"
"No is a no, dad!"
"Eilrie, just listen to me!"
"No!"
"So, this is what a degrading family bonding between daughter and father looks like?" My sister whispered, the intention to mock is there, alright.
"Probably just teenager problems." I said with the same tired voice as her.
"No, you're probably right. Teenagers, am I right?"
"Mhmm, teenagers..."I nodded in agreement.
