"Of course, I don't take on things I can't win" Steve replied as he relaxed into the car seat and began looking out of the window.
Even if he was calm, his heart rate was through the roof. He was nervous which was understandable.
C-rank gates may just be middle level gates in terms of power but even Low ranked gates such as E-rank were already dangerous enough.
Even the butt of every joke, the E-rank goblins were at least four times as strong as the average human and were just as fast.
The only thing that made them E-rank was their absolute stupidity and lack of discernment in combat.
C-rank monsters were millions of times stronger than that and above that, many of them possessed normal human intellect. They could predict your movements and react accordingly.
He was confident because he had his combat suit which put him on par with an A-ranker on moderate settings and he had also been training with the Trainer.
At the moment, he was finally above the 'Novice' settings and had advanced to 'Advanced Beginner'. It wasn't much but it meant that he could defend himself now.
"We're here" Jin Chul announced as the car came to a stop
"Okay then, thank you" He replied as he picked up a long object from the floor of the vehicle.
The object was completely wrapped in cloth preventing all from seeing it. As soon as he picked it up, he immediately got down from the vehicle.
"Shit!" Steve cussed
The gate was bigger than anticipated, he had his expectations but this exceeded it and above all, the mana he could sense from the gate was horrifying.
"Do you change your mind now?" Jin Chul asked
"No, this is just greater than I expected" Steve replied with a wary smile.
"You know you can request for back up from the Association right, that much should be allowed within your deal"
"I know but it's not needed, if I need extra help, I'll inform you through this. It's experimental but it has worked so far" Steve said as he offered up some earpieces.
"This would allow us communicate even while you're in the gate?" Jin Chul asked in surprise as he checked out
"Hopefully, remember it's experimental" Steve said as he began to stretch.
"Then I wish you luck and don't hesitate to call when you need help" Jin Chul said as he and the rest of the Association people stood around in wait.
Meanwhile Steve took a deep breath before activating his suit and almost immediately he felt the immense physical power return.
Feeling the power, running through his body, Steve immediately took off in a loud boom, much to the surprise of everyone within the area.
Rushing into the gates, Steve intended to clear it as quickly and as efficiently as possible.
"Is he that strong?" Jin Chul asked in surprise at Steve's display of power.
While they marvelled at the sudden display, the gate slowly shrank as it became smaller and smaller.
"Sir, the gate!!" one of the Association members shouted while pointing towards the gate
"Fuck!" Jin Chul screamed as he immediately took of running,
*Bang*
A loud sound was heard as he was soon sent flying back. The gate was closed and red.
A Red Gate.
