Jing Yiren awoke as she did every day, to the same ink-like darkness in front of her eyes.
It was already eight in the evening.
As soon as she woke up, Jing Yiren felt pain in her eyes and instinctively raised her hand to rub them.
She was stopped by a large hand.
"Don't rub your eyes!" came Lu Ming's gentle voice.
"You can't touch your eyes for a few days after your examination!"
"..." Jing Yiren halted her hand, obediently nodding her head.
Lu Ming released her small hand and brought over the hot porridge he had already prepared.
He adjusted the back of her bed, letting Jing Yiren lean comfortably against it.
He spoon-fed her porridge, one mouthful at a time.
"Uncle! I feel like I've been sleeping forever? I even fell asleep during the examination!" Jing Yiren mumbled with porridge in her mouth.
