Mù Qiānxún woke up in the middle of the night, feeling thirsty. She mumbled and fumbled around in the bed, but she could not find the light switch in this unfamiliar room. Giving up, she lifted the covers, intending to get out of bed.
A large hand reached over from behind her, encircling her waist, drawing her into his warm, scorching chest. He seemed eager to pull her even closer, as if wanting to merge her into his body.
"What's wrong?"
His voice sounded lazy, weaving in and out of sleep, somewhat muffled.
Mù Qiānxún was somewhat awake by now. She was usually quite peaceful in her sleep, often drifting off as soon as she closed her eyes.
Even in the middle of the night, she usually wouldn't wake up fully.
She said softly, "I ate too much cake, I'm thirsty."
"Hmm…" Ou Zun let go of her. Although she had initially intended to get up herself, she heard his agreeable, languid voice, "It can be chilly during a mountain night, stay still in bed. I'll get you some water."
