She had expressed all her affection for him.

But he hated the idea of someone else controlling his life, especially when it came to marriage.

He believed that if he did this, she would certainly give up. If she gave up, they would not have to get married.
But she didn't. Her fondness for him never faded.

And he did it partly out of spite for Hai Xiaotang.
