The turn of events left Xia Wan'an struggling to control her emotions. The light reflected by the ring at her fingertip stabbed her eyes, causing them to tear. She wanted to hold back the urge to cry, but her eyes still got wet. Swiftly, she kicked the chair behind her away and left the restaurant.
"An'an!"
Han Jingnian instinctively stood up, but by the time he chased out of the restaurant, Xia Wan'an had already turned into the public restroom of the living room and locked the door behind her.
Han Jingnian walked up quickly, turned the doorknob, and found that the door was locked. He then raised his hand and gently knocked on the door, "An'an?"
"An'an? An'an?"
Han Jingnian called out to Xia Wan'an several times without any response. He became worried as he turned the doorknob violently, making the door rattle.
