Just as her fingertips were about to touch Han Jingnian's arm, Han Jingnian picked up a glass of warm water from the table next to him. Then he brushed past Chi Mu, and walked up to Xia Wan'an while everyone watched. "It's a bit cool outside tonight, don't drink so much cold wine. Have some warm water."
Xia Wan'an gripped the edge of her wine glass tightly, her hand slightly trembling. She looked dreamily into Han Jingnian's deep eyes for a moment, then slowly nodded her head.
Seeing her response, Han Jingnian immediately reached out and took the wine glass from Xia Wan'an's hand and replaced it with the warm water. His fingertips brushed against her skin, feeling the chill to which he softly asked: "Why are your hands so cold? Have you been staying outside in the cold? Shall we head back now?"
Chi Mu's hand, misdirected by Han Jingnian, was left hanging in mid-air.
