"Hmm! Remember to come back quickly for a meal!"
"Understood!"
As Zhuanzhuan left home, she didn't head towards her grandmother's house, but instead made her way towards the fields behind the village. The summer fields were filled with crops like rice, watermelons, corn, and other farm produce.
It was still early, and there was not a soul to be seen in the fields.
Zhuanzhuan casually sat on the edge of a field, her legs dangling in the air. She took out the household register she had secretly taken from her mom, examining it intently, uncertainty and struggle reflected in her eyes.
"Sis," she sighed. "Why are you thinking of getting married now?"
"It's too sudden!"
"I didn't have enough time to prepare!"
She sighed in frustration, resting her chin in her hand. "I had it all planned out - for your wedding, I'd definitely give you an unforgettable and unique gift. But your sudden decision to marry doesn't leave me enough time to get your present!"
