An aged but straight back was standing at the door of the ward, looking at the person inside through the glass.
Chi Xingye uncertainly called out, "Grandpa?"
The figure stiffened at her call. He didn't turn around, seeming a bit embarrassed and looking for a place to hide. But where could he hide now? He pretended not to hear her and kept his silence.
Chi Xingye walked over to him, standing by his side, craning her neck, "Grandpa, it really is you!"
If this old man wasn't the Elder King, who could he be?
The Elder King's face stiffened, he still didn't turn around and said gruffly, "So what if it's me, you cheeky girl, stop yapping!"
Observant as Chi Xingye was, she quickly noticed the redness and wetness in the Elder King's eyes.
She immediately understood that he must feel somewhat embarrassed being caught in such a state.
Chi Xingye gently coughed, pretending to not notice anything.
