Chapter 8 - Chapter 8 Get her out! _1

"Haven't you stopped having this dream for almost two years?"

Qin Chuanyou is a doctor skilled in his craft, renowned both domestically in DK and internationally.

He understands Helian Chengyan's condition best.

Among the brothers, he is the only one who can keep a serious conversation going.

Helian Chengyan nodded, looking at him with deep, meaningful eyes.

Having caught on, Qin Chuanyou said, "Stop doubting yourself, I conducted a comprehensive medical examination on you two years ago. You're perfectly normal, and your brain has not sustained any injuries. It's impossible for you to have any memory loss. Two years ago, you also checked, and found that there was no girl in your life who resembled the one in your dreams."

Chengyan did investigate.

Indeed, he found nothing out of the ordinary.

Except for the one week that he spent alone, sailing and drinking in utter despair, with an empty memory...and the scenes he saw in his dreams, which seemed to perfectly match the places he had visited that week...

"Now that I've dreamt of her again, how can you explain my situation?" Helian Chengyan asked.

Two years ago, he kept having that dream for nearly half a year after coming back from sea. But it gradually stopped afterwards.

"I think it's caused by an emotional knot. It's possible that deep in your subconscious, the more you try to forget about this dream, the more vividly you remember it. However, have you recently encountered some events or someone that could trigger this dream again?"

When did it start?

It seemed to happen after his castle was overtaken by 'that' clumsy woman...

——

The morning sun was bright and welcoming.

Its warm rays gently filtered into the room.

Upon hearing her alarm, Chi Xingye lazily stretched before quickly getting up and preparing herself for the day.

Her entire summer holiday was packed with plans.

Now, she had to rush to an auction this morning.

While getting ready, she enveloped herself with silent prayers, hoping to find the item she had been hunting for at the auction – then all her hard work would finally pay off...

"Oh my!"

With her head down and in a rush to leave, Chi Xingye collided headlong into a firm wall of muscle, nearly thrown back by the impact.

She let out a surprised yelp.

Rubbing her forehead, she lifted her gaze, only to find that the "wall" was Helian Chengyan!!!

He hadn't been home for quite some time.

She hadn't heard him come home last night either. How was he suddenly home now?

And moreover, right outside her room door?

"Your Highness, good morning!"

Chi Xingye flashed a radiant smile and politely bid him good morning. Then she prepared to quickly disappear from his line of sight.

However, Helian Chengyan subtly shifted his tall, robust figure, effortlessly blocking her path.

Chi Xingye looked towards him, puzzled.

He said nothing. His demeanor was haughty, cold, and overpowering.

His profound eyes, deep as the sea, were fixed on her. His gaze was so piercing it felt like it could look straight into her heart.

Chi Xingye grew more and more uncomfortable under his scrutiny, her heartbeat quickening.

Although she couldn't comprehend why he was staring at her, she couldn't shake off the anxiety.

Swallowing nervously, Chi Xingye noticed the dark circles under Helian Chengyan's handsome eyes. She blurted out without thinking.

"Did...Did you not sleep well last night?"

Upon asking the question, Chi Xingye bit her tongue with annoyance.

Why did she care about him?

Helian Chengyan continued to hold her gaze. His eyes held a touch of enigmatic depth.

The discomfort from his stare left Chi Xingye increasingly uneasy. After an awkward silence, his icy, commanding voice filled the air, "When will you get the hell out of here?!"

"...!"

Chi Xingye's racing heart came to an abrupt stop.

She felt a barely perceptible sting of pain in her heart.

The 'friendly' prince!

His very first greeting of the day was asking her to get lost.

But compared to their previous encounters, he was quite kind-hearted not to have thrown her out already, instead preferring to ask her when she planned to leave.

Chi Xingye laughed, covering her inexplicably sour mood, "Soon, really soon. Your Highness, I have urgent matters to attend to and can't accompany you. I shall take my leave now!"

Chi Xingye played dumb.

She had no idea when she would move out; everything hinged on the situation outside!

Just as she sidestepped to leave, her arm was firmly caught in his grip.

He had no intention of letting her go.

"You've been squatting here for more than three months. You have quite some nerve!" Helian Chengyan, his lips bearing a trace of contempt, radiated an aura of arrogant coldness.

Any other woman would have been trembling in fear under his imposing presence, begging for forgiveness and mercy. However, not Chi Xingye. She remained rather brazen, not embarrassed in the slightest.

Contrarily, she continued to smile at him even as he rebuked her.

"What were you hoping to achieve by squatting here?" Helian Chengyan's eyes flashed dangerously.

"Intentions? I have none!"

Xingye's face bore an innocent expression.

Upon remembering something, her captivating eyes twinkled with honesty, "Your Highness, don't tell me you thought my lingering presence is because I had feelings for you? You've completely misunderstood! I know that you are the most outstanding and noble man in DK. Desired by countless women... "

"However, precisely because of your outstanding qualities, I am very aware of my own limitations. I'm neither intellectually nor socially equipped to match you. So, even if I were to consider any man, I would never dare to entertain thoughts about you!"

While complimenting him, Chi Xingye cleverly downplayed her own worth.

She raised three fingers, "Your Highness, I swear, I have ABSOLUTELY no improper thoughts about you! I'm simply a tenant here. You don't need to pay me extra attention."

At that moment, Chi Xingye didn't notice the sour expression that came over Helian Chengyan's face.

He laughed coldly, "Me? Paying attention to you? You really think highly of yourself!"

——

Helian Chengyan did not expect to feel regret for letting her off the hook that day instead of driving her away immediately.

This allowed the stupid and annoying woman to live comfortably in his house for nearly a month.

Over the past month, he had come back several times, intending to drive her out.

However.

Curiously, she had been conspicuously absent from the castle during those days. He didn't know where she had gone.

After not seeing her for a while, he even began to think that she had finally recognized her situation and left of her own accord.

That was until the end of August.

One afternoon,

When Helian Chengyan returned to the castle, his security guard handed over several of his personal letters that had been delivered.

Then, the guard presented him with another letter.

"Your Highness, this letter is addressed to Miss Chi. Should I hand it over to you too?"

Chi Xingye had lived in the castle for quite a while now. Although nobody had dared to question her relationship with His Highness,

It was clear that most people in the castle regarded her as Helian Chengyan's woman. After all, why else would His Highness let her stay in his personal castle for such a long time?

For reasons unknown, Helian Chengyan accepted Chi Xingye's letter.

Upon seeing the sender's address, a trace of surprise flashed through his deep red eyes.
