Not long after disabling the communication device, they were nearing the warden's office.
Huo Er rushed a few steps ahead of Kang Chen, arriving before the door, intending to push it open.
But he found it immovable, "Mr. Chen, seems like…it's locked from the inside!"
Kang Chen narrowed his brows, "Can't you knock it open?"
Huo Er urgently knocked on the door, "Warden, open the door. Open the door. I know for sure you are in there. We, Mr. Chen, want to see you. Why do you lock the door during the day?"
Despite the pain in his hand from all the knocking, the warden didn't open the door.
Huo Er turned his head to look at Kang Chen: "Mr. Chen, he won't open the door!"
Kang Chen, visibly angry, pulled Huo Er aside, lifted a leg and kicked forcefully. With a clang, the locked door was nearly ripped off its hinges.
Huo Er wanted to force a bitter smile but found it difficult to muster one. Now he faced contempt again!
Huo Er stepped aside, "Mr. Chen, please come in."
