Kang Chen listened to the phone, hearing Ming Mei's coquettish and slightly wronged voice, the entire evening's fatigue wiped away completely.

Ming Mei tugged at the phone cord. "Liar, you said you'd be back quickly."
The corner of his mouth twitched upward minutely. Hearing Ming Mei's voice, he could visualize her at that moment. Her cheeks must be puffy, with a pout, like a hamster.
If only she were standing right before him so that he could reach out and pinch that cherubic face.
