Qi Jiu's eyes were about to pop out of his head at the back. "Damn, Kang Chen, when did you become so agreeable?"
Ming Mei tried to lift her head from Kang Chen's arms, but he twirled her sound by the shoulders.
Kang Chen held Ming Mei closer as he walked inwards, "Is lunch ready? I'm hungry."
Ming Mei nodded, "Yes…"
"Let's go, time to eat."
Qi Jiu grumbled from the back, "Fuck, you ignored me."
Shortly after, a few coughs echoed through, and the old man strolled forward, "Jiu, what a rare guest."
Qi Jiu promptly removed his hat and laughed, "Sir Kang, I came to see you. Kang Chen joked with me that you were not in. This guy is just too dishonest."
The old man chuckled— he fully understood why his son had said he was not around.
He did not reprimand Kang Chen for his lie, instead, he offered, "Since you're here, join us for lunch."
"Great, thanks, Sir Kang. I'll be blunt then. I'm really hungry."
