They both wanted to break the silence, both willing to show weakness first, but no one could find the words to speak.
Knock, knock, knock... a knock came from the door.
"Wanqing, brother, are you there?" Tianxue called out loudly, knocking again, and tried to open the door, but found it locked from the inside. "There's a class tonight, Wanqing. You should be going," she said.
Mu Tianying walked over and opened the door, which startled Tianxue. She peeked inside, saw Wanqing crouching on the floor, and asked with concern, "Are you guys okay?"
"What time is it?"
"Six o'clock," Tianxue replied. "Class starts at six-thirty. Have you guys eaten?"
"Check what we have in the kitchen," Mu Tianying spoke in a low voice, closed the door, then walked over to Wanqing. "Go to class first."
Wanqing, hearing his gentle voice, felt like crying. Was she afraid of losing him just now? Afraid of not seeing him or hearing him anymore? It turns out she liked him.
