Tianxin stared blankly at her phone, the screen displaying the words "Call Ended".
What the heck!!
A bit downcast, Tianxin tossed her phone onto the bed and sprawled out next to it, feeling desolate. Those two were off in their private world yet again…
Why… wuwuwu…
Brother Xiao is seven years older than Shen Xin too, yet he can happily hug her and show off their affection wherever they go. Why does Brother Ran, who is seven years older than me, look at me like I'm a child?
Damn it!! What's so great about being childhood friends and growing up together!!?
Tianxin thought vehemently, come to think of it, she had met Brother Ran a few times when they were children... Even though she doesn't remember those encounters, their families have been acquainted since their grandparents' generation. Though the connection had weakened in their generation, they'd still visit each other during holidays. But seriously, why didn't she make a move on Brother Ran when she was younger...
Tianxin rolled over on the soft bed, her watery eyes staring at the ceiling, as memories of the first time she became infatuated with Chen Yiran played involuntarily in her mind.
That should have been three months ago, when her parents threw a party to celebrate her admission into a prestigious provincial high school, inviting some relatives and friends over for a meal.
At that banquet, she saw Chen Yiran (whom she assumed was the first time, because she can't remember anything about their childhood) newly returned from studying abroad in France.
She recalled her parents pulling her to Chen Yiran, smilingly telling her, "Tianxin, say hi."
She looked up at Chen Yiran, who even in the summer's heat was dressed in a suit and tie, and thought that anyone dressed in a suit should be an uncle…
So she sweetly greeted him, "Hello, uncle."
Next second, she clearly saw Chen Yiran's handsome face twitch at the corner of his mouth.
People around them were taken aback. Her parents and relatives couldn't help but burst into laughter.
She even remembers her mother, gasping for breath between laughs, saying to her, "Technically, you should call him brother. Yiran is only seven years older than you."
"Oh... hello, brother..." Tianxin turned beet red and timidly greeted him.
And that caused another round of uproarious laughter from everyone.
Tianxin became wholly confused. Was calling him brother wrong as well??
Chen Yiran, however, simply looked at her, nodded his head, and didn't say anything more.
OK, end of the flashback.
All in all, Tianxin thought her first meeting with Chen Yiran was incredibly embarrassing.
