"No wonder." Chen Yiran's mom thoughtfully watched her son, reaching out to pat his shoulder. "If that young lady is a good person, introduce her to us. It would put your father and me at ease."
"Mom..." Chen Yiran smiled and turned to his mother, replying in a soft voice, "I haven't even formally met her parents, so what's the hurry? Let's take it slow."
"What are you worried about? Yiran, you are such an excellent man. Any family would be fortunate to have you as a son-in-law!" Tianxin's mother laughed and joined the conversation.
Chen Yiran gave a modest smile, giving a thoughtful gaze at Tianxin's parents, but said nothing more.
Throughout the dinner, Chen Yiran's mother wished she could swap seats with her son to barrage Tianxin with questions about her boyfriend. Tianxin was caught between fending off her future mother-in-law's burning curiosity and handling Chen Yiran's periodic shows of affection, all the while, her heart took a beating.
