"It's nothing," Chen Yiran smiled, the corners of his lips turning up to form the most alluring curve. He shook his head, amused. This little girl, just a few moments of his attention and her face would blush. She really was incapable of hiding what she felt.
Tianxin watched as the corners of his lips curved into a smile, complementing the faint pink of his lips. She swallowed discretely, unknowingly wondering how it would feel to kiss Yiran's lips.
As this thought crossed her mind, her face turned even redder.
Chen Yiran watched her with an incredulous expression as her face gradually turned a deeper shade of red. He reached out to touch her flushed cheek, puzzled, "What's the matter? Why is your face getting more and more red? Did you catch a cold from me?"
"No... no..." Tianxin quickly turned her head away, her hands covering her flushed cheeks. She murmured to herself, "Calm down, calm down. Tianxin, you have to stay calm!"
The soft, smooth texture under his fingers lingered, the skin of a sixteen-year-old girl, unexpectedly soft and delicate.
Chen Yiran was a little surprised but his face remained calm and composed. He graciously retracted his hand and continued typing on his keyboard.
The atmosphere in the living room suddenly became awkward.
It wasn't until the washing machine on the balcony emitted a series of beeping sounds, that Tianxin sprang up from the sofa, rushed towards it and exclaimed, "The laundry's done! The laundry's done!"
Chen Yiran frowned slightly. Was her discomfort being next to him that unbearable?
But then again, why did he even entertain such thoughts in the first place.
Tianxin ran to the washing machine, opened the door, and pulled out a pair of tiny, Garfield underwear that had shrunken even more due to the heat. She turned her puzzled gaze towards Chen Yiran.
When Chen Yiran saw the tiny underwear in her hands, he couldn't help but embarrassedly say, "I didn't expect... um... that they would shrink after washing. And drying them only made them bunch up even more..."
Tianxin looked stupefied, she held up the tiny underwear between two fingers to examine it closely.
Well... these tiny underwear would probably just fit her five-year-old niece...
"Ahem... they just shrunk, you can try them on; they should stretch back to their original size." For once, Chen Yiran felt unsure about what he had just said.
