He didn't know how much time had passed, but when he opened his eyes again, Tianxin was propping her chin with both hands, leaning over his bed, her clear, black and white eyes unblinkingly watching him.
"What are you looking at..." Chen Yiran barely spoke, his throat felt dry and hoarse, uncomfortably tight.
"Nothing." Tianxin quickly averted her gaze, reaching behind her for a somewhat warm glass of water on the bedside table. She handed it to Chen Yiran, saying, "Brother Yiran, drink some water."
"Hmm." Chen Yiran, propping himself up with one hand, accepted the water from Tianxin. He took the cold medicine she offered and swallowed it in one gulp.
As a large cup of warm water flowed down his throat into his body, Chen Yiran finally felt his body's feverish heat diminish a bit.
A small, cool hand gently touched his forehead. Tianxin said with worry, "Brother Yiran, you still have a fever. Do we need to go to the hospital?"
"No need." Chen Yiran subtly avoided her soft hand, placed the cup of water on the nightstand, and casually said, "I just need to rest a bit longer."
"Alright..." Tianxin bit her lip and hesitated for a moment before quietly asking, "Brother Yiran, are you hungry? I made some porridge for you in the kitchen. Do you want some now?"
"No need, just leave it there. I don't have an appetite right now." Chen Yiran leaned against the head of the bed, his deep eyes resting on Tianxin as he asked softly, "It's very late. Aren't you going home?"
"Um... I..." Tianxin paused. For the sake of visiting him, she had lied to her parents about staying at Shen Xin's house. She turned her head hurriedly to look at the drizzling rain outside the window and fumbled, "Uh... it's raining outside..."
"So what?" Chen Yiran's dark eyes observed the blush creeping up her fair face. He had a sudden understanding.
"I... I didn't bring an umbrella..." Tianxin admitted, her eyes downcast, afraid to meet his gaze.
"Should I take you home?" Chen Yiran asked casually.
"You don't need to... Brother Yiran, you're still feverish..." Tianxin lowered her head even further.
The room instantly fell silent.
After a long while, Chen Yiran's deep voice echoed in the room:
"Tianxin, would you like to stay here tonight?"
"Huh...??" Tianxin lifted her head in surprise, her eyes reflecting surprise and delight.
Chen Yiran extended a slender, fair hand and grabbed Tianxin's delicate wrist. With a slight pull, he brought her onto the bed. He rolled over, pinning her beneath him. His hot breath fell on her fair, delicate cheeks as he hoarsely asked, "So, do you want to stay?"
