The mountain path was treacherous, and Su Chaoyang's gunshot wound to the chest throbbed painfully. The man he had been pursuing had disappeared after entering the forest. Su Chaoyang decided not to immediately search for him. Instead, he found a place where he could take shelter and catch his breath.
Just as he was about to stand up, a flash of white light passed before his eyes. Su Chaoyang's gaze hardened, his eyes flashing with a fierce determination. The next moment, he lifted the gun in his hand and fired a shot!
With a loud "bang", birds flew helter-skelter from the trees, their wings flapping as they sought the safety of the sky.
As a special forces soldier, Su Chaoyang was all too familiar with that flash of white light. It was the reflection of sunlight off a sniper rifle's scope! The sniper had unwittingly exposed his position, drawing on an impending deadly attack.
