Chi Zaozao had slept for over ten hours.
When she awoke, it was four o'clock in the early morning.
The lights in the ward were on, and when she opened her eyes, she saw a snowy white ceiling, and looking down, everything around her was white as well.
Inadvertently, she had caught sight of the person lying by the bed.
She didn't make a sound, just quietly watching him.
The man was facing her, resting on his arms, with his eyes gently closed, handsome in sleep with a high nose bridge, thin lips, and sharply defined features.
Chi Zaozao stared at him, watching silently, not making a sound, just looking on, lost in thought.
After an unknowable amount of time, Ye Que's arms went numb from being used as a pillow, and, in a daze, he woke up, raising his eyes only to see Chi Zaozao staring at him with wide eyes.
He immediately became alert, sat up straight, and grabbed her hand into his own, asking with concern, "Zaozao, you've woken up? Do you feel discomfort anywhere?"
