Chi Zaozao, barefoot and dressed in a hospital gown, finally made it to the door of Tang Wanjun's ward, dragging her frail body.
Because he was in the ICU and visitors were not allowed, she could only lie against the window and quietly watch him, tears streaming down her face like rain.
He lay there, motionless, his face pale and his body riddled with tubes.
She thought to herself that Wanjun must be in so much pain.
He was struggling and fighting against the Grim Reaper. With the reaper being so vicious and Wanjun already suffering from heart failure and covered in wounds, how could he possibly fight it off?
Chi Zaozao's tears silently slid down her cheeks, one line after another.
She lay at the window, her voice hoarse as she spoke to him, "Wanjun, you have to get better. When you're better, I'll go watch the sunset with you."
