Ye Que saw off Tang Shichu and, without taking care of the wedding invitations on the coffee table, went back upstairs directly to Chi Zaozao's bedside.
By this time, Chi Zaozao had already woken up. She rubbed her sleepy eyes and sat up in bed, leaning against the headboard and staring at Ye Que who entered the room. She pouted her lips and whined, "Husband, why didn't you wake me up when you got out of bed?"
Ye Que brought her clothes over, and as he helped her out of her pajamas, he said, "Aren't you on winter break? I wanted you to sleep in. How did you wake up by yourself?"
She flung herself onto him and clung to him with her whole limp body, her chin resting on his shoulder as she cooed.
"I did want to continue sleeping, but I felt uncomfortable. Your son is being unruly again, creating havoc in my belly."
