Chapter 7 - Chapter 7 The Real Boss_1

Compared to the one running ahead, he was walking unhurriedly, not acting like a rescuer, but more like a late-night stroller.

He had his head down; Lin Wei couldn't see his face, but she recognized him just by glancing at the earring on his ear.

Jiang Su. The Abbreviation Emperor. A box of rainbow candies.

"City Lord!" The young man in a black coat, who had been running ahead, quickly arrived in front of the "City Lord".

City Lord.

The composed young man, who is good at protecting vital parts, turns out to be called the City Lord?

Lin Wei was murmuring about his strange nickname when she saw Jiang Su halt and glance in her direction.

Lin Wei quickly retreated her head.

She mustn't be discovered.

She was the model student in the eyes of her teachers, the obedient daughter in the hearts of her nominal parents, and the hard-working girl in her classmates' impression.

If he spotted her, all her reputation would be ruined.

Lin Wei took out her mobile phone and sent a message to the "Public Bookstore", intending to slip away.

I want to go to Tsinghua: I'll pick up the test paper another day. Also, remember, you didn't see me tonight.

Public Bookstore: I didn't see you in the first place.

"..."

Lin Wei put away her cellphone, slipped back to the middle of the rooftop, jumped down from the high part to the lower part, then somersaulted into another alley.

Lin Wei propped herself up after landing, patted the dust off her clothes and walked home.

Having left his three business cards, the "Public Bookstore" also left.

In the alley remained Jiang Su, Xu Shu, and Cheng Zhu.

Cheng Zhu narrated the whole thing in detail, prompting Xu Shu to curse continuously as he listened.

However, Jiang Su, who stood indifferently on the side, just looked up at the rooftop after hearing Cheng Zhu's words. He glanced around, ignored Xu Shu, found a relatively short wall, backed up a couple of steps, and jumped onto the rooftop.

The rooftop was deserted.

On the higher roof, he saw a transparent plastic bag containing bags of bread and ham snack wrappers, plus a straw not yet completely dried of milk.

Jiang Su sneered lightly, about to jump down, when he suddenly stepped on something.

Bending down to pick it up, it was a black button, adorned with a rhinestone in the middle.

"Su Ge!" Xu Shu, who had been shouting for Jiang Su and gotten no response, stuck his head up above the wall.

Jiang quickly stuffed the button into his pocket, ignored Xu Shu, and jumped back into the alley.

Xu Shu had to let go and jumped back to the ground, "Su Ge, did you find anything up there?"

"Nothing." Jiang Su tossed the garbage he had brought down into Xu Shu's arms: "Remember to sort it."

Xu Shu: "..."

Jiang Su glanced at the injury on Cheng Zhu's face and said coldly, "Let's go."

Xu Shu stuffed the trash into his bag, helped Cheng Zhu up and asked, "Where to?"

Jiang Su put his hands in his pockets and walked slowly out of the alley. His tone was bone-chillingly icy, "To find a venue."

To avoid Jiang Su, Lin Wei, who had jumped into another alley, took a detour of about twenty minutes, and finally reached the street leading home.

The night was deep; there weren't many people on the street, only a few people standing in front of the clinic across the road, where the lights were significantly brighter.

As she walked closer, Lin Wei found the people across the road more and more familiar.

When she walked to the Police Bureau office directly opposite the clinic, Lin Wei finally could see clearly.

The four misbehaving teenagers beaten up by the "Public Bookstore", and the three people with Jiang Su.

"..."

Lin Wei felt dizzy.

What happened today? She had run into the Abbreviation Emperor three times after school.

The two groups had apparently just met, confronting each other on both sides of the clinic.

However, there was one person who was out of place.

Jiang Su, who had his cap back on, was leaning against the glass door of the clinic, engrossed in playing with his phone.

The road was not wide, and there were few cars at night. Lin Wei clearly heard a voice from Jiang Su's phone across the street, "I'll take the BUFF."

Lin Wei: "..."

So, you didn't come here to fight, but to play King of Glory?

The guy with wilted, yellow hair smoked a cigarette, staring at Jiang Su through the wreathing smoke.

When he finished his cigarette and Jiang Su still showed no signs of putting down his phone, the wilting-haired-guy laughed, "Hey, Su Lord, what a coincidence, you're also here for a medical consultation?"

Jiang Su didn't respond and played his game attentively.

The wilting-haired-guy was growing impatient.

Jiang Su focused on his phone screen until he heard a "victory" from the game. He stored the phone in his pocket and finally looked at the wilted-haired-guy, "No, I'm here to watch you get checked up."

The wilting-haired-guy was left choking for a few seconds, and then he cursed.

Jiang Su pointed nonchalantly at the door behind him, "Now, are you going to go in first for a check-up, or wait for a group visit later?"

Lin Wei: "..."

Now she understood why the City Lord's remarks were so provoking. His big brother was even more provoking.

The wilting-haired-guy was probably triggered by Jiang Su, he rose in anger, "Jiang Su, you stop pretending to be cool in front of me..."

Before he could finish, Jiang Su kicked him down to the ground.

Before anyone could react, Jiang Su kicked him again. For a moment, the ordinarily silent and bland Jiang Su seemed to transform into a vicious man; his whole body radiated aggressive and sharp aura.

Lin Wei blinked, looking at the clinic across the street, then turned around to look at the lit-up police station behind her.

Her seatmate at school was a real tough guy. He actually started a fight right at the entrance of a police station.

He's utterly lawless. He's really raising hell.

Jiang Su clearly knew how to fight; swift, accurate, and ruthless. Before anyone from the clinic could react, or anyone from the police station could show up, he had already subdued the yellow-haired gang of four.

He propelled himself down, grabbed the wilting-haired-guy by the collar and slapped his face, "I don't need to pretend, I'm not looking to be fucked."

Just as the police were pushing the doors of the police station open, the group at the clinic entrance had disappeared.

Jiang Su, however, left elegantly. He hailed a taxi on the roadside.

Stunned by Jiang Su's words before his elegant retreat, Lin Wei stood frozen for a moment before continuing her walk towards the residential gate.

Entering the residential building, Lin Wei walked towards the elevator. Through the slowly closing elevator door, she could see Jiang Su inside it.

Lin Wei casually leaned against the wall, waiting for the elevator to descend.

The next second, the elevator dinged, the door opened, and Jiang Su was staring at her in silence.

Lin Wei saw him silent, so she stayed silent too.

After a mutual silence, Jiang Su's gaze fell on Lin Wei's coat. He examined the missing second button from the top for a few seconds, blocked the elevator door from closing and asked her, "Aren't you coming in?"
