Lin Wei could tell that Xu Shu was joking. The only reason she pretended to believe him and told Jiang Su about was that she didn't want Jiang Su to know what she and Xu Shu had been talking about. Not because she was afraid he'd be upset about them talking behind his back, but because she was afraid that talking about his mother would pick at his emotional wounds.
With all the rotten things that had happened to him today, she really didn't want to add fuel to the fire.
But she never expected that Jiang Su would react so strongly, almost as if he was afraid that others would truly think there was something between him and Xu Shu. Lin Wei, watching a rather shocked Jiang Su, could hardly contain her laughter.
Lin Wei didn't continue the conversation further but instead turned around and leaned over her desk, "Why did you suddenly come back to the classroom?"
