Sorry! I've rewritten this chapter because I didn't like it.
....
Tucker slowly opened his eyes only to find himself nestled in bed with Clara. Her arms gently wrapped around him as his head was laid on her chest."Mh? Morning already." Tucker thought.
He was groggy for a few seconds before fully coming too. He saw the position he was in and carefully separated himself from Clara, careful not to wake her up.
Glancing at the clock in the corner of the room, he noted that there were still a few hours before he could turn back to his normal form.
"Nghhh~ I guess exploring around for a while doesn't sound too bad...I should also make some breakfast after as thanks to her." Tucker decided as he noticed the blanket had slipped off Clara and gently bit on the edge before dragging it back on to cover her.
"Mhhh, Haduken", Clara muttered softly as she snuggled into the pillow, now losing her soft, cuddly pet.
Tucker tilted his head in confusion"Haduken?" Was that some sort of person? He should write that down in his notebook to research later on.
Silently, without making a single noise, he slipped out of Clara's room and began exploring the vast warehouse the trio lived in.
The place was enormous, like a labyrinth of hallways and rooms, each more interesting than the last.
As he wandered around, he marvelled at the various rooms filled with odd-looking weapons, strange glass tubes filled with bubbling liquids, and objects that seemed to hum with demonic and angelic energy.
"Are they perhaps trying to combine the two? That's not possible, not to mention the nature of said energies, but they have the flow completely wrong; instead, they're fighting each other for dominance."
He could see how the energy was flowing, and if it continued sooner or later, one energy would either devour the other, or they would destroy each other.
He only stopped for a moment before continuing his little tour of the area.
There was a large garage area with several vehicles in various states of repair. Sleek, demonic motorcycles, heavily armoured cars, and even a few hovercraft-like vehicles filled the space.
In a corner of the garage, he also found a workbench cluttered with tools and parts. A half-assembled robot caught his eye. Tucker inspected it, fascinated by the intricate design.
Whoever was building this had serious skills. Maybe it was Clara's little project." Project G.U.N.D.A.M...I wonder what it means?" Tucker observed for a little while longer before moving on.
After a while, Tucker decided to make his way back to the kitchen. He was going to start making breakfast for Clara, Odette, and their mother, and got straight to work.
🎶🎶Sizzlin' bacon, fryin' eggs,
Toast is poppin', start your day.
Beans and sausage, hash browns too,
Everything's better when it's made for you.🎶
🎶Bacon, eggs, toast, and beans,
Mornin' meal, a dream it seems.
Coffee's hot, orange juice too,
English breakfast, just for you.🎶
🎶Pancakes stackin', syrup flows,
Griddle's hot, it's how it goes.
Crispy bacon, on the side,
With a smile, take a bite.🎶🎶
🎶🎶Bacon, eggs, toast, and beans,
Mornin' meal, a dream it seems.
Coffee's hot, orange juice too,
American breakfast, just for you.🎶🎶
Using his nine tails skillfully, Tucker started with some eggs, bacon, toast, and baked beans.
He sang a familiar tune he always heard Valentina sing or hum whenever she cooked breakfast...right before burning down the kitchen, of course.
"Ahhh, good times." He chuckled, but was also slightly worried she might actually burn down her entire building one day if she wasn't careful.
-----
Meanwhile.....
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" Tom was screaming hysterically as his hair was engulfed in flames.
Valentina looked at the scene with confusion."I wonder what I did wrong with the Crème Brûlée; was I not supposed to torch the top."
Kitty was in the corner bowing her head down as she sprayed Tom with a fire extinguisher.
------
"She's probably fine...I think!"
He also found some strange-looking fruits and remembered Odette putting the green one on her bagels the previous day. He added those to the spread as well.
He worked quickly, whipping up a feast that included miso soup and fish, placing all the food on a large dining table in the dining area.
Proud of his work, Tucker summoned his phone and took a picture of the spread.
"Perfect!!"
Then, he headed back to Clara's room. She was still sleeping so he hopped onto her bed and began tickling her nose with his tail. Clara woke up sneezing and fell off the bed.
"Whaaaa!!!" She exclaimed, rubbing the now visible red spot on her forehead.
"What's up, Sparky?" she greeted him groggily, rubbing her eyes. Tucker yipped excitedly and began dragging her out of the room.
"Huh, W-wait, Sparky, what's gotten into you all of a sudden." Tucker didn't respond, however, as he looked around the hallway as if searching for something or someone...
He sniffed the air, then dashed towards Odette's room. Clara tried to stop him, but it was too late.
BANG!!!
She could already hear her sister's angry screams and heavy footsteps. Tucker ran past and disappeared into another hallway just as Odette stormed out of her room, wet, with fox slobber on her face, her nightgown askew, and a double-barrel shotgun gun in her hand.
"Clara! Get your flea-ridden pet out of my room!" Odette shouted, trying to wipe the drool off her face.
Clara laughed nervously. "Sorry, Odette! He's just excited."
"I don't care. Keep him away from me or I swear I'll—"
"Odette, please! He's just excited, that's all," Clara interjected, trying to calm her sister down.
----
Tucker ran through the hallways, and sensing the woman from yesterday he made his way to her office.
He wasn't paying too much attention yesterday, but after looking around and gathering enough information, he was 99% sure of the woman's Identity, which was that of an Overlord.
A class of demons that not only had power, but influence and many soul contracts.
Overlords are special types of demons, where they were above the natural-born demons and normal sinners but still under the likes of nobility like the seven deadly sins and the Ars Goetia.
-------
Carmilla was already wide awake and currently on a phone call with a long-time client of hers.
"Yes...yes, with this year's inventory and your budget, we can arrange for something."
As she was finishing her conversation, her train of thought was interrupted by the sound of nails scratching at her door."Huh?" At first, she ignored it, but soon, the scratching returned.
She sighed and ended the call prematurely to get to the bottom of whatever this was! was...
Opening the door, she saw her daughter's new pet and wondered why it was outside her door.
She was about to call her daughter Clara to retrieve him, but he suddenly yipped and walked away, turning back to make sure she was following.
"..."
Curious, she decided to see what he was up to. The pair soon arrived at the dining area where Clara and Odette were staring at the assortment of food in shock.
"Did you order breakfast?" their mother asked, raising an eyebrow.
The sisters shook their heads, and Clara said, "I think Sparky made this."
"..."
Their mother looked at Tucker in surprise, then back at her daughters.
---
The family sat down, and Tucker placed the utensils on each plate. Odette was giving him a weird stare, while Clara looked at him with amazement; Carmilla, on the other had stayed neutral.
"Yip yip!!!"(Please Enjoy!)
After a moment of hesitation, they began to eat. The weird mood immediately lightened, and the silent, awkward atmosphere disappeared.
"Wow! This is amazing, Sparky!" Clara praised, feeding him a piece of bacon. Her sister Odette, on the other hand, was sceptical.
"How does an animal even know how to cook?" Odette asked, still suspicious.
"It's clearly not a normal fox. Maybe it's a new breed. It's obviously intelligent. We should dissect it," Odette said.
Clara glared at her sister. "No! No way, not in a hundred billion years. He did such a nice thing for us, and your first thought is to kill him?"
"Why not? It would do good to see why this fox is so smart. Have you ever heard of an animal that can cook a full-course meal?"
As the two sisters started to argue, Carmilla swiftly intervened. "Suficiente. No le haremos daño a Sparky. Ese es el final de eso". Odette was indignant but she listened to her mother dropping the topic...for now.
Tucker smirked at Odette's resigned look.'Someone got in trouble!!' She glared at him, mouthing, "I'm watching you," before digging into the food.
"..."
'Why did it taste so different to here's.' She would never admit it, but she was jealous that a fleabag could cook better than her.
As the family ate, Tucker felt a sense of satisfaction. Glancing at the clock. In less than four hours, he would transform back to normal. He decided to leave and explore the city in his true form by then.
-----
After the trio finished their breakfast, Carmilla looked at her daughters and asked. "What are your schedules like this morning?"
Clara stretched and said, "I've got a meeting with Sir Pentious and Glitchus to discuss their next big purchases. Then I need to check on the shipments from Ragamuffin. After that, I have the afternoon free."
Odette, still annoyed at Tucker's earlier antics, adjusted her glasses. "I have some experiments to conduct and a few meetings with potential investors. I also need to review the latest data from our intelligence network."
Carmilla nodded, satisfied. "Good. We have a lot of work to do. Let's get to it."
Taking advantage of their business discussions, Tucker saw his opportunity and quietly slipped out of the room.
He hopped out of an open window he had noticed earlier while exploring and made his way onto the roof.
Once outside, he left the southwest side of Pentagram City and started heading east. There was something there he needed to confirm.
------
Tucker hopped from roof to roof, observing the denizens of Hell go about their day-to-day activities.
He even saw some breaking into random songs, which reminded him of what Valentina did. People of Hell liked their music!
After a lengthy journey, Tucker stopped on top of a large building with a sign that read, "Welcome to Hell."
It gave him a spectacular view of Pentagram City. From up top, he could see the Heavenly Embassy in the heart of the city.
It was a big building that no one could miss as it was white, gold, shiny and on top was a big hourglass with a timer that counted down to the next extermination day.
To the northwest, close to where he had come from, he saw a large tower similar to Valentina's building and sensed an immense amount of lust emanating from that direction.
The north side of the city seemed relatively normal, but there was one distinct building perched on a hill at the edge of the City.
However, his attention was mainly concentrated on the south side, where he smelled the most blood and death, but also the delicious aroma of pastries.
His next stop was going to be close to the Cannibal Town District."I hope the pastries aren't made of demon remains." He shivered at the thought and made sure to sniff out all the food that he could potentially put in his body.
As he made his way south, his body hummed, indicating that the spell had worn off and he could turn back to normal."Finally, I can transform back."He thought in relief, easily transforming back to his bipedal fox form.
And soon enough, he arrived at the edge of Cannibal Town.
