"I needed to get out." I whispered.
I was trapped in a cage by the worst possible person. My arch nemesis. Kallichore, I had been chasing them for years but they kidnapped a kid from a college a few weeks ago and I needed to save them. The kid had the power to see strings of fate. I didn't understand what Kallichore needed him for but it couldn't be good.

Kallichore stepped into the room as the light flicked on. Interrupting my thoughts. I quickly scanned the room I saw a big sceen on the wall directly in front of me. A machine to the left with the kid I was looking for in a tube of blue liquid with cords on his body and a mask on his face.
Kallichore began to speak.
"Here, at the crux of our eternal conflict, I have caught you." They walked closer to me while speaking as if taunting me to make a move.
"I will destroy everything and everyone you love." They stepped back and walked to the big monitor, as they approached a set of levers and buttons came out of the ground and rose to their hip.
"As soon as I press this button it will highlight everyone you love and then I will eliminate them one by one, leaving you all alone" Kallichore laughed a twisted evil and suddenly I realized something.
"Now, Nightlight. Let's see who you care for, hm?" She reached over and began to push the button
"Wait no you can't-" I began but was quickly interrupted.
"Oh contraire, mon ami. I can do whatever I wish"
Kallichore pressed the button and the screen lights up several locations. My parents house, my work place, a bunch of friend's houses, a park, a vacation home and finally... the villain's lair.
I panicked, "listen, I didn't-"
"Oh so you care about this kid huh?" Kallichore said. "Then he will die first." She stepped over and punched through the glass to grab the kid by his throat, the blue liquid pouring out of the tube and spilling on the ground. She held him and started choking him. He woke up and started struggling.
"You will see him die in my hands for everything you have done to prevent my revenge." Kallichore said in victory.
"NO! He isn't the one... don't kill him, he isn't the one who I care about... you are Lucy." I said, reaching out to them. Hoping Lucy stops. He had no connection to me, he doesn't deserve to die.
Kallichore aka Lucy, stopped. And after a second dropped the kid. She then pulled a lever on her control switch. Shutting off the power to my cage. She walked to me and bent the bars to enter the cage. I didn't attack or anything I just bent to my knees and raised my head. Lucy then pulled off my mask amd looked at me... then. Sat down next to me and held my mask. I sat next to her and didn't say anything. For who knows how long we sat there in silence. Not willing to start the conversation. Eventually lucy said something.
"...This is awkward" she said. That was it.
"Yeah... I wish you would've gone with the death ray you had last month." I responded.
After a second she responded. "I... I'm glad I didn't." And that was it.
