After a week of the Space Voyage, we finally reached our destination. The Great Golden City could be seen from the windows of our Ship. The Sheer Size and Beauty of the place could leave any mortal astonished. The City itself was surrounded by Green fields covered with trees full of fruit and Happy souls who wandered here for all of eternity. This was the fate of all the Good Men and women who died - They Tasted all kinds of food, had fun all the time, talked a lot, and drank a lot. Heaven was a place where everyone was happy. I felt Jealous of Michael. He could rule such a place when I only had a Tribe of Barbarians. He looked so Delicate and more cultured compared to me I almost Vomited.
But everything was about to change. I was planning to turn my Empire into a Heaven as well and Michael Supported me all the time. This goal of mine seemed achievable.
Katie looked at the Green fiends and all the happy souls with Excitement. She has never seen a happy world before. I could read sadness in her eyes.
"Mom... Dad... If only you could be here with me right now." I could hear her thoughts. It was hard to watch such a young girl to be dealing with so much pain and Sadness. I was glad that I brought her with me.
The Golden City wasn't a huge Metropolis as the name suggests. It's more of a medieval Castle surrounded by Huge Walls. The Angels, even though they love the human souls who wander around outside, don't want them to go inside their Domicile. In their opinion, they granted mortals enough and cannot see them as their equals. They are right as well. They are not even mortals. They are dead people. Their spirits. Even though they are happy, it feels like an illusion. It felt like an endless Loop and it scared me.
When our ships boarded near the castle, a group of angels greeted us. I couldn't recall their names, but they treated me with respect. They led us towards the Golden Castle. We ignored all the souls running around us, unable to touch our Physical bodies. I could see how Katie Tried to hold them and got sad when she realized that she was only looking at Souls. I didn't explain everything to her. I should've said what kind of place heaven was.
Soon we entered the castle from the Main entrance. A soft sound of instruments played. I could hear music so enjoyable I almost entered the Meditation Phase. As expected of the Angels... They are good at everything. Perfect beings are made in the Old Man's image, even though he has never been perfect.
Soon I saw Michael standing nearby, looking at us. I went towards him. He kneeled.
"Welcome to the Kingdom of Heaven, my lord. Please, come this way. We shall make a great feast to celebrate your visit." He said and Stood up.
"No need. Just take my Subordinate and feed her your greatest meals." I pointed at Katie. She gasped. "You and I should talk, Michael. We have a lot to discuss."
"As you wish."
"I'm not Hungry!" Katie Whispered in my ear.
"You don't understand. This isn't the kind of food you've ever tasted. You're in Heaven now, the realm of angels. No matter if you are hungry or not, their food will always look delicious and you won't be able to help yourself. This is the kind of place where mortals can only go after death. Enjoy yourself."
"Okay... Is Ramael here?"
"He's on a Peace mission, leading a Legion of Angels. Why are you asking?"
"Just wondering..." She blushed.
I smiled, patted her head, and followed Michael towards our meeting room. He opened the large door and put a silence spell around 50 meters space so no one could hear us. He knew me. I wouldn't come all the way here if there was no important reason. He sat on the Chair at the end of a short table and got ready to listen to me. Such an understanding comrade...
"Michael... I have terrifying news."
"What Terrified you, my lord? What has happened?"
"I hope I won't anger you by the next few words." I sat at the other end of the table. "But Your father told me that there are external forces that formed him."
"External forces that formed him?"
"Yes. Most likely Multiversal beings."
"When did he tell you this? Why didn't you tell me before?"
"He told me around 2 weeks ago."
"Impossible. My father has been dead for thousands of years."
"Yes, that's what I told you..."
"You lied?"
"Yes, I did."
"Why would you do such a thing?"
"I didn't want to anger you, Michael. I wanted you to be Clear-minded. You should have led Heaven. I didn't want you to be mad at me for so long."
"Where is he right now? Is he still alive?"
"No. I killed him."
"Is this another lie of yours?"
"No. The Crimson Devourer took his life. The sword that he sent to me. You know that he couldn't survive it."
"Why didn't you just tell me? I'm no little kid. At least I would know that He wasn't dead. I would never question your decision, nor would I go against you, My lord. There was no need for you to hide the truth from me."
"I know, Michael. I apologize for this."
"You... Apologize? You never did that before..."
"I know. I have been a brute. I was never sorry for anything, but the old man was still your father. I did wrong to hide him from you and I am Sorry for what I have done."
He fell silent for a while. He was still processing all of this. I could feel his Divine Energy rising and pulsating in his Veins but he managed to control himself.
"What are we planning to do, my lord?" He spoke. "If these so-called external forces are real, are we going to fight against them?"
"I do not know. That's why I came here. You are my most Loyal Subordinate. I need your advice, my friend."
"Hmm..." He fell silent for a whole minute. "Have you ever encountered such a being, my lord?"
"No. Your father mentioned them in his last moments. I do not know why he would lie. To take a Revenge after his death and Drive me insane?"
"My father would not lie. He was not a Great Person, I admit, but he has never been a liar."
"I have no evidence that they are real though. Either they are not real, or they never even cared about this universe at all. I used my divine eyes to search all the corners of the universe. Nothing seems to be hinting at them. They must be pulling strings behind the curtains."
"Why would they do this? Who are they?"
"I do not know, but they didn't make a move even after the old man's death. Either they just forgot about this world or they are waiting to make a move. I'm... Terrified, Michael."
"I understand, my lord. This news also scared me and I cannot hide it, but if they are not hurting us directly, I believe that we must not seek out for them as well. Why can't we just focus on our little world and not draw their attention?"
"No. I cannot be hiding in the Shadows. If I killed the old man, I can kill them as well. I just need more blood for the Crims..."
"My lord! If they made my father, they must have unimaginable power. I don't think that we can beat them. If my Father indeed spoke the truth, then those beings are extremely powerful. We shouldn't seek a quarrel with them."
"But I should Always venture into the Unknown. My name is Harold the Undefeated, remember?"
"If you don't want your name to be corrected to [Harold the Dead] please listen to my advice. Let us just bring peace to this Universe. I will support you no matter what. If that little subordinate of yours is from another world as well, we can go there, conquer it, and turn it into a utopia as well. If the Multiverse is real the Possibilities are endless."
I fell silent. He was right. Confronting those beings would be foolish, also I already had a goal so I couldn't just abandon it just because of my Ego. Michael helped me once again. I was losing myself. It's simple - We shall bring peace to our universe and Help out anyone else. We should become the beacon of Hope. Multiverse is real. There are countless worlds in which wars are fought, people die, women mourn and Children cry. No more.
I stayed at the Golden City for 2 weeks. Michael didn't seem to mind, but he still seemed a little upset about what I had done. We had endless feasts and Parties. Katie ate a lot, as always. Looks like Angelic Food Was something she couldn't resist. It was natural. She was just a mortal girl. Just thinking about the fact that she would die in a few years made me sad. I could grant her immortality, of course, but I did not know if that's what she wanted. I was planning to ask her once I had time to do so.
Ramael came back to Heaven in a week and a half. He was happy to see me at his home and Greeted me with respect. I also showed him the signs of Appreciation and thanked him for his Hard work. He almost cried.
He and Katie were getting along well. I was glad that she had a friend after so long.
As for me, I felt lonely. Even though I had so many subordinates and friends, I felt empty. I wanted to fight someone strong. That feeling never left me.
Fighting Michael was pointless. Even if we had a Sparring Match I wouldn't go all out on him. He was my Loyal Friend and I did not want to fight him.
I just sat at the Table and watched as everyone had fun. I was jealous of them. I wanted to Die. I wanted to pull the Crimson devourer from the Pocket space and Drive it through my heart. This Empty existence was torturing me.
Then I saw Katie Smile. She Smiled at Ramael the way I had never seen. These two... And I smiled as well.
Maybe that's what I lacked... Love. Maybe that's why I couldn't fill the Void inside me. Maybe I just need some kind of Warmth. But where could I find someone who would make me feel complete? It seemed impossible.
Soon came the time to leave the heaven. We got on the space ships,Angels blessed our travels and Waved hands. All of it seemed so shallow and Meaningless to me. I could not feel anything. Was I losing myself? Maybe I was going crazy? Even though I found a new purpose in my life, the Loneliness never left me. I wanted to fight. I wanted to die. I wanted someone to hold me and I wanted to Cut someone's head. I didn't know what I wanted and It scared me.
