Chapter 32 - Chapter 32

A few days later:

[Theodore and Family Group Thanksgiving Dinner Party]

…..

Businessmen and partners walked up and down around the majestic hall. The design of the hall consisted of simple and fashionable ideas, just as Amelia would like it.

Daniel still grieved the departure of Amelia, so he did everything in his best to feel her presence again. Even their bedroom back at him has been changed to the style she talked about on their first week of marriage.

He did all of that so that whenever she came back, she would rethink her decision to leave. Somewhere deep down in his heart, he wished Amelia would show up at this party. It was his grand day, and in the past, she always stood beside him as a wife while he gave the closing speech.

All through his small interactions with a few acquaintances, he remained absent-minded all through.

Diana's presence by his side speculated a series of questions but he ignored them all. He asked her not to come along, but she insisted, saying she would love to give her support.

Exhausted, Daniel walked over to the special table for him, positioned in the front row. Diana immediately sat beside him, and it took everything in him not to slap her out of his sight.

Seated with a mighty air of confidence, Cullen's intense flaming eyes scanned the business party hall.

Clad in a majestic black suit, his chiseled features fitted perfectly into his suit, accentuating his broad shoulder and powerful upper chest to his v-taper back, muscular arms, defined and thick neck, and well-proportioned legs. They all came together harmoniously.

Strands of dark, perfectly styled hair fell gracefully, framing his ver-handsome face. On his left ear rested a small diamond stud earring.

His whole aura was more about that raw, rugged, and confident appeal that drives females wild. However, his icy demeanor made it hard for a single one of them to stand an inch close to him.

Regardless, they admired from afar.

His snow-blue eyes moved around like that of an eagle, studying everyone. His main focus rested on Daniel and Diana the most.

The speech of awards and goals being mentioned on stage were none of his concern. He barely heard a word from that.

He watched Diana massage Daniel's shaft with a slow lick of her lips. Disgusted, he turned the other way. He wondered what ran through their minds.

The light was dimmed but still, someone else could see them. And then what? What would people say when they see a man whose wife is missing and accused of cheating carrying out an act like that with someone believed to be his wife's best friend?

"Mr. Daniel sure has so many awards. It's just a matter of time before he pitthrown everyone and becomes the largest country in the world," one of the old businessmen beside Cullen whispered to another.

The man whispered and smiled and returned the whisper. "His wife cheating on him is such a shame. She must be on the bed of some worthless puppet right now," his voice sounded disgusted.

The first man laughed loudly, "She probably moaned in pleasure without money. Wireless whore," he said loudly, and a few around him laughed, while a few veered around and cast disgusted glances at him.

They barely have any idea why he made such a comment but what made them disgusted was how loud he was.

Cullen ignored their blabbering, his main focus was on his wristwatch. All he waited for was Amelia's entrance.

His jaw clenched in impatience. "What's taking her so long?" he muttered.

He doesn't even want to be here. Daniel would be hell shocked if he saw him in his gathering. He attended this place because of Amelia. Everything she asked him to arrange was already set and waiting.

.....

Amelia's long fingers trembled as she rubbed them together, trying to prepare herself. Her chest heaved up and down, trying so hard to breathe properly.

She arrived at the Thanksgiving arena an hour ago, but she had no courage to step out of the Uber. Her heart was troubled.

She cared about the tongue-wagging comments Daniel's business partners would throw at her. She relaxed her back on the car seat and started directly at the entrance.

"I have more work to do ma'am," the Uber driver grumbled, pushing Amelia out of her train of thought.

Amelia flustered. "Oh!" she sighed softly and smiled at him. Searching her purse, she brought out a certain amount of the money Cullen gave to her earlier.

"Here, please forgive me. This is for your compensation," she pleaded, stretching her hand forward.

The Uber driver snatched the money from her hand. Not caring if he thanked her or not, Amelia arranged her hair and dropped out of the car.

Especially for this night, Amelia made sure to look as beautiful as she always wanted to. Thanks to Cullen, everything she needed was provided.

Her hair was styled in water-styled braids and the black little off-the-shoulder evening dress fitted her perfectly.

The beautiful aquamarine raindrop silver necklace that hugged her neck gave her a perfect level of beauty. Her endless long legs were clad in black stiletto heels.

The glamorous tender makeup she wore left her looking flawless. Her eyes were beautified in smoky eyeliner and her lips were with an iconic red lipstick. Her beauty tonight outshined the darkness and sorrow in her heart.

She took steady, majestic, and commanding steps towards the entrance. The amount of confidence that oozes out of her surprised Amelia herself.

Doing a crazy hair flip, Amelia swayed her hips towards the entrance of the door. She paused when she got to the door and listened.

".... And as usual, it's time for Mr. Daniel to give us the secret behind his success this year," the speaker from the inside announced.

Amelia's lips curled up into a vixen smile.

"The perfect time I have been waiting for. Beautiful!" she said out loud and pushed the hall doors open with both hands.
