Chapter 14 - 14

**************

Apollo stood beside Roman as their most trusted man told them about what was happening now that Luther was found executed. The older man who had worked for their father had

A huge scar across his face that came after he was kidnapped by a enemy mob. He refused to sell out his people and was horribly disfigured.

"Luther's death is causing a stir in the underworld." Jonah says to them, "The Russians are dying for revenge."

Roman glares at the man as he listens to him. His eyebrows are creased and his eyes narrow. He seemed to be very irritated with this news and he speaks slowly yet firmly as he listens to the conversation.

"I don't care what they are dying for...we didn't kill Luther. If they want to believe in something false then I'll show them what we are capable of."

"Brother we can't act hastily. They know we have a truce. Why would we possibly kill their idiotic boss?" Apollo angrily says feeling irritation built up. He knew they had done nothing wrong so to be dragged in such a situation was annoying.

Roman shakes his head and glares at Apollo. "Even though we wouldn't touch their boss...they are accusing us of doing so. We can't let them think we're weak or we'll be killed. You know how this works Apollo...you know that they only look at strength. We need to show them that they made a mistake by accusing us. It's the only way to deal with something like this."

"Roman is the leader. We will follow his orders." Jonah says with a smile on his face, "Your father would be proud."

As the Jonah says this, Roman glances down at his feet before he looks back at him. In the last couple of months since becoming the leader of the family, he has grown to respect the man.

"We'll leave them a message to show them that they should not mistake our kindness for weaknesses." He is very confident that they should take action first before the Russians do anything. The longer they wait, the more time the Russians had to plan something.

Apollo didnt like the idea of having violence but he knew Roman was the type of person who wanted to destroy his enemies or anyone who defyed him. "Fine. We will do as you wish." Apollo worried that if they attacked first they would look more guilty but then again he understood where Roman was coming from.

Roman nods his head and he looks over at Apollo who was now on board with his decision to take immediate action as they couldn't afford to lose the time. They needed to give the Russians a small message so that they would understand the implications of their accusation. Roman didn't wish to wait any longer and he looks over at Apollo as he addresses him. "Good...then it's decided."

************

Later Apollo walks over to his Brother, they had blown up a warehouse that had about 1.5 million worth of crack. It had belonged to the Russians and now Apollo was certain the war would begin soon.

"It is done. The warehouse is up in flames...the Russians have heard your message loud and clear."

He grins and his expression grows content. This was the exact kind of response he was looking for. Now the Russians would know not to mess with them. They would think twice before accusing them of something that they did not do. He looks over at Apollo and his facial expression is almost pure satisfaction. "So they got the message? They now know that we are capable of doing much more."

"Roman. You do realize this means war. Which means they are going to come back for revenge and try to hit us where it hurts the most." Apollo said seriously, "You seem to forget about your Megan."

His facial expression grows very serious and the smirk that he wore only moments before was gone. Once again the charming and playful side of him completely vanished and his eyes grew narrow with an intent to take a deadly approach if needed. She was all that was on his mind right now as he glares at Apollo.

"I haven't forgotten at all...what about her, she is mine...I have men watching her."

"Your weakness will be targeted brother."

For a split second he looks angry but soon he let's the words start to sink in. Then his facial expression grows even more serious and he glares at Apollo. His eyes have such a deadly intent to them as he stares at him.

"Megan is my greatest treasure. Nobody gets close to her...nobody touches her!"

"That's the problem brother! You care for her so much! I suggest you end things while it hasn't gone too far."

His eyes grow wide and his facial expression becomes extremely threatening and his tone is very sharp, he does not appreciate his brother telling him to end things with her. He clenches his fist and he speaks in quite a harsh tone.

"You are way out of line here Apollo. I have no intentions of ending anything with her as she is extremely special to me. So if you are expecting me to give up on her then you will be waiting forever."

"Roman her life will be in danger. She doesn't need to be involved with us and our lifestyle." Apollo said with a softer tone.

His expression softens slightly but he remains very defensive. He was very adamant about the fact that he wasn't going to end things with her under any circumstance. "I don't want her at risk either and she won't be in danger as long as we take the right precautions. We need to keep her away from the front lines but I am refusing to end things with her. We have something special."

Apollo was stunned to see the look on his brothers face. He had never seen Roman so emotional. He didn't even act this way when their parents died.

This girl was special to Roman and Apollo was going to reluctantly have to accept this.

Apollo sighs, "I will have my men watching her too. If She means this much to you then she is important to me too."

He smiles softly when he hears Apollo's words. He was glad to hear that he is going to have his men watching her as well. She meant the world to him and he was so glad that his brother cared enough to have her protection on their radar.

"Thank you Apollo...I know I can count on you to keep her safe."
