The sand was moving! Sand was flowing, as if there were currents underneath.
Lux jumped up, surprised, and tried to see where the motion originated. There was no wind here; no clouds—just the swirling sands of the tornadoes. Where was it coming from?
Sand streamed along the ground, moving in a single direction—straight toward him. As if some unseen force were pushing the grains together.
"Someone's controlling this!" Lux shouted. "I don't know who is doing this."
His words caught in his throat when he realized everyone else had fallen silent. He turned around and saw that they were staring at him, wondering what he meant.
He pointed. "Look! Look how fast the sand moves!"
He could hear the others taking notice now. "Oh my God," Chloe said. "We've got to get out of here."
Lux raised his hand again. "Wait. We should try to use this."
