When she reached for the note, however, she saw that it was empty. All she found was a single rose. A red one. With a smile, she opened the envelope. Inside was a note.
Dear Evelyn,
You're special. You have so much potential. More importantly, you are unique.
I want to spend more time with you. That is why I am giving you my roses.
Enjoy them. And don't be late to work tomorrow!

Smiling, Evelyn slipped the rose behind her ear. Then she turned and headed upstairs to her room. When she closed the door, she noticed the lights had dimmed slightly. The glow of the aquarium casts an orange light on everything.
Looking closer, she saw the glow wasn't coming from the tank. Instead, it came from the window above her bed. Curious, she walked over to check it out.
A small box rested beside the window. It held a single rose. One of the red ones.
She smiled.
"Oh no," she said aloud. "He's done it again!"
