"I guess I haven't realized it until today. When you looked at me, I felt something different. You saw everything there was to see in me, inside and out."
"That's exactly what happened."
"Then, why didn't you say anything sooner?"
"Because I didn't know what else to say. I mean, you've been so busy lately, working hard at school. You deserve someone better than me."
"I know. I know I do. Maybe one day."
"If I hadn't gone after you, you might have missed out on meeting somebody great."
"Too bad, you'll have to be gone now."
"Huh? What do you mean?"
John walked out of the shadows as he began laughing. His laugh was infectious, and soon Lisa joined in. John tried to cover his mouth but couldn't keep from snickering.
"Is everything okay?" Allen asked.
"No, it's not. It's terrible, actually. I can't believe you'll fall in love that quickly."
