Allen leaned forward to look at Lisa. "How do you like the popcorn?"
"It's okay. Not bad."
"Do you want to share a bucket with me? Or do you want your own?"
"I don't mind sharing."
"All right then. Here you go."
"Thank you."
While he ate the popcorn, Lisa stared at the screen. A few minutes later, the main feature started.
As the first scene unfolded, Allen saw a young couple sitting together. He glanced over at Lisa. She was leaning back against her seat. Her eyes were open. She looked peaceful.
He felt warm inside. She was happy. He had made her happy. He brought her happiness. His heart swelled with pride.
This was something special. He had never been in a relationship like this before. This wasn't like dating someone else. It was better than that. He loved spending time with someone. There was an innocence about her that attracted him. She had a kind soul and a gentle nature. She didn't judge others as far as he'd known.
