"That's a bit extreme," she said. "Why do you even care?"

"It's not just because I want to make you happy. Actually, I'd love to see you smile." He paused for a moment. "And besides, I owe you. You saved me from that terrible accident. You helped me get better. Without you, I might not be able to walk today."
