A part of him wanted to run outside right away and show everyone what he'd seen. But another part told him to be careful. To not say anything. To keep quiet.
Because this wasn't normal. It was impossible. Nobody else should be able to see this. People would lock him up if they discovered he could see this. Or worse...
Jason stood up and left the room.
He ran through the streets of Chicago.
Everyone he passed stared at him. Some were afraid, others excited. Most were curious.
One man approached him. "Hey kid! What is going on?"
Jason hesitated before answering. "I can see stars."
"Are you crazy? That's impossible!"
Jason kept walking. His heart pounded in his chest. He glanced over his shoulder and noticed the man staring at him.
