His body fell limply to the floor.
Hunter stared down at the broken corpse. "You always struck me as a very intelligent monster, but fighting you, I'll say not."
He kneeled down beside the body. "It's been a long time since he's spoken."
"Who?"
"Lux."
"So why are you thinking about him?"
"Because I see myself in him."
"Really?"
"Yes."
"In what way?"
"He wanted to be free of all the restraints that bound him."
"Like you?"
"Exactly like me."
"How so?"
"When I first spoke to Lux, he was imprisoned."
"A prison cell?"
"Yes. A steel enclosure designed by a brilliant mind." Hunter said, running his hands through his white hair.
"So you helped him escape?"
"Not exactly."
"Then what happened?"
"We escaped together."
"I thought you were the one who escaped."
