After taking care of the children—which required a little more effort since they refused to eat their breakfast—and getting dressed, one of the women walked down the path that led to the main road. The sun shone brightly overhead, reflecting off the pavement.
A black SUV rolled up slowly beside her, blocking her way. She recognized the car. It was one of the cars that had been pursuing her husband since his accident.
She held her breath, wondering what was going to happen next. Would the men in the vehicle shoot her? Try to kidnap her.
Then she looked at the driver. A man.
He stepped out of the car wearing a gray suit jacket, a white shirt, and a pair of dark blue trousers. He carried an envelope in his hand. In fact, he looked younger than he did when he was in the car. Much younger. He wore a mask to cover up his identity.
He smiled warmly when he noticed her standing in front of his car.
"Hi," he said.
