"Like he didn't remember where he was. He seemed lost."
"Did he say anything?"
The chief nodded. "Yes. He told us he remembered nothing about himself."
"What did he look like?"
"That's the thing, officer. He looked normal except for a few scars on his arms."
"Scars?"
The chief nodded. "They were old scars. And they looked like claw marks. That's not possible."
"You believe an animal might have attacked him?"
"Something more than that. I'd bet money on it."
"What makes you think so?"
"There's been some weird reports of disappearances in the area lately. There are some other strange things going on too."
"Such as?"
"This morning, a few of my men saw something on camera. "A light appeared over the river."
The officer looked surprised. "Really?"
"Yes. It was bright white and shot straight up."
"Was there anything attached to it?"
The chief shook his head and said, "Nothing."
