"Oh, come on, Kamen," she whined. "You don't have to be such a jerk."
"Look, you're pretty enough, but you don't have a brain. I don't want to waste my time talking to you."
She huffed angrily. "What does it matter anyway? We've been friends forever! I can flirt with you because we're close, right? And besides, I can talk to anyone I want."
"Yeah, you can." Kamen sighed. "Anyone apart from me."
"So, what do you expect?" She pouted.
"Nothing," he mumbled. "But still..."
"You don't have to be rude," she insisted.
"Sorry," he said, standing back up. "I'm tired of being nice to people."
"Whatever!" She rolled her eyes.
Kamen continued walking through the room, looking at the other guests. He stopped next to a group of girls. One of them noticed him and waved him over.
"Hey there," she smiled.
"Hi," he returned.
"Are you John's friend?"
"Yes."
